| Quote ="bewareshadows"Surely your kidding Saints fan, 14,000 so far. Most people will be thinking this is the old Saints where an all ticket game suddenly becomes a pay on the night the day before. When people realise that the all ticket is not going to be dropped then that 14,000 will get another 2 - 3k easily. Also does the 14k include the allocation for Salford?'"
I agree, i suspect there are many fans out there expecting to hand cash over on the day at the turnstiles. They will have a shock if they queue up at a turnstile, and find that access is only via a plastic season ticket card, or bar coded ticket that needs to be pre purchased from the ticket office.
The plan is i believe for the turnstiles to be cash free for all matches. With entry being solely via tickets purchased in advance, or on match night from the ticket office.
It will be therefore interesting to see if we get large queues on match nights at the ticket office. Or if the club develops the culture of buying in advance.

| Just read the link and it says more than 14k sold, with the win yesterday that will only encourage more.

Not really. There has been such a huge buzz around the town about the stadium and everything I just thought that we might have been pushing the sellout button by now, with only five days left.
But I do take the point that people may still be under the impression that walk ups are possible. There is no way of getting the message out that they are not, given that the weekly paper only goes out on Thursday.

| Can anyone see an end to the reduced capacity or will it be a "wait and see" situation. I've just looked at tickets or the Catalan and Hull games and no West Stand tickets are being sold.

As Chair maker has pointed out, when the club invests in one of these
then the capacity will be back up.
Failing that the club will have to prove the stewarding can cope at the reduced capacity before the larger capacity is allowed. That will be down to the officer responsible for health and safety and as it's their neck on the line if someone gets injured for passing approval, do not expect the capacity to be increased until solid evidence is handed over to the individual responsible so they can dot all the i's and cross all the t'.

They will have to be fitted for the south corners too as the east stand is a standing terrace and fans could just do the same thing there as they did in the west stand against Widnes.

Firstly congratulations for creating another RL stadium.
I have noticed this view being repeated by yourself, imo a derby is made by the banter inside and outside the ground - surely you will have an away end that the Humbles and Wire will fill, if you restrict them then I would reciprocate the favour if I were them.
RL will have made it when the fairweather fans can't get a ticket for Big games at all, when its season ticket or nowt income will be virtually guaranteed for the year, making it far easier to budget and plan.
All the best on Friday from a Leyther.

It is undoubtedly better with banter. But in the end it's a business. My point is simple, the stadium capacity is 18000, for Salford we have already sold 14,000. That leaves 4k or 3.2k at the new attendance. Wigan and Warrington CLAIM, they bring 5 to 6k to knowsley road.
If you do the maths, the 'Away' end can hold 3.8k or less. Therefore there will be less capacity for Wigan and Wire than at KR, despite the capacity being the same.
If the level of 14k holds up for other games, it's a bit of an if, but Catalan will show this. Saints can't possible hold back 5-6k tickets for possible Wigan and Wire fans.
If the sales are held the same as every other match, then the tickets will be on sale on the website 1 month before the Wigan and Wire match, the simple thing is Saints fans will be checking for this Wigan and wire fans are less likely to be doing so. If they are, then they too can book their ticket a month in advance if not. Then the ticket allocation that is sent to Wigan and Wire could well be below. 3k.
You say if we restrict the numbers, but it would not be the club imposing an arbitary limit. It would simply be market forces. I would expect Wigan and Wire to reciprocate and allow market forces to take hold. But put simply Wigan is a bigger stadium and so they can take the extra numbers. Wire well if they can sell 15k to their own supporters they should. In the end it's the home supporters who will buy future season tickets and possibly turn up next week. Warrington fans are not going to come to Langtree park the next week!
So it's not about doing it to spite the Wigan and Wire fans, but put simply their allocation will be less this year than they have been previously been used to.

With the way things are going at Saints, I can't see the club offering Wigan-Wire anymore than 20% of ground capacity, that would still leave plenty of banter with 3300+ away fans. If Wigan offer the same percentage at the DW stadium the Saints allocation would be 5000, which is probably no difference from past seasons. Similarly on Wire, Saints allocation could just be under 3000.
Think the message will get out to all RL fans if you want to watch a game of Rugby League at Langy Park, make sure you book your ticket well in advance. The club want to make the ground into a "fortress", it may well feel that way for away fans when they find themselves engulfed with saints supporters.

| It is easier to control people actually going back into the areana in the south corners, because you have to enter via one of the tunnels, this is easy for the stewards, where as the open ends of the north allow to much flow into the areana, thus being harder to control. Its all new at the moment paople have not got used to where they feel comfy, like they were at kr, I know I stood in the same spot for years and if someone came talking they would always go back to their pefared spec before the kickoff. i think once the situation calms down and we have the capacity back up they will probably get left open

| Does anyone know how many we've sold now? We had the usual marketing/PR smear last week about how 13,000 had gone. Are we going to sell out? I notice on the ticketing site you can buy tickets everywhere but the West Stand terrace.
