Your FACTS are not facts as the actual strike only lasted for 10 days. And all miners were 'locked-out' 13 days before the strike started. So there is no way that they were out 3 to 4 weeks before. I am sure you will agree your maths don't add up.
But don't let the facts get in the way of a good excuse, eh?

Im not really up on the pie eaters nickname, anyone like to tell me in great detail or a link to what happend?
I have few pie eaters work for me, the info would be a great help.

| Wigan is home to the annual World Pie Eating Championship, usually held at Harry's Bar on Wallgate, Wigan. The competition has been held since 1992 and in 2007 a vegetarian option was added.[105 Wiganers are sometimes referred to as "pie-eaters". The name is said to date from the 1926 General Strike when Wigan miners were starved back to work before their counterparts in surrounding towns and were forced to metaphorically eat "humble pie".[96[106

| I've just watched the recording of the game. That was probably the worst James Graham performance since Murrayfield last year. To turn your back on your opponents at the play the ball twice is unforgivable.
Was he carrying a knock? He certainly didn't seem to be running with his usual gusto.

I've said it few times on other threads that he was poor, it's not fair to be to hard on him as he never plays bad and runs his blood to water every week.
I've said a few times, to turn your back on the attacking team is school boy rugby.
Far to much passing over recent weeks, he's a prop not a halfback.
It was hard to tell from watching it there but I'm sure I saw him get a raised arm early on which cut him, maybe Leeds roughed him up early and rattled him?

| Mini has just come in from work and watched the game.
I had noticed how poor Graham was in the second half when he came back on in my first viewing. However, we both noticed how he played in his first thirty minute spell. He was way off the pace of the game, really labouring to keep up with play or get back into the defensive line.
That is not James Graham at all. That's why I wonder if he was either carrying an injury of had some form of viral sickness.

I don't think he was injured or sick, just played poor.
I've not watched game back on tv but I thought I saw jammer get a raised arm early on off bailey. Maybe that roughed him up a little.
Over the last few weeks he's passing to much.

I thought he looked knackered throughout the second half (I was at the game). I think he's just been played too much and spelled too little.

He's been spelled more times this year than he has over the last two years, also he don't take it in half as much as he used to when he was a 80 min prop.

But he's doing more work again this year, not having Fas around, and he's played internationals each off season too. These things can be cumulative, you know.

I'd argue 5 minute Fas being out has benefitted Jammer.

Maybe having to play 80 mins so many times this season & carrying the pack is taking its toll & he is just tired - will Potter rest him next week though?

| Jammer has been targeted a lot more this year and the absence of an impact prop (Maurie) dosn,t help the situation either. Don,t think it was Jammer who looked tired most of the team were ,around the 65 min mark, this was caused by Buderus getting quick play the balls and running into spaces against an almost non existing defensive line. We needed an extra 2-3 seconds at the tackle, we didn,t achieve it................which gave Leeds momentum, something that Saints use to be good at, week in week out.

| I too thought Graham was blowing hard in the second half. Leeds kept running at him to tire him out. He is a great prop and I am not sure why he just doesn`t run at the opposition more instead of passing the ball. Saying that you played well considering you had no halfbacks. Bailey played well for us despite what some might think.

| He's probably exhausted. He was absolutely superb last week at Warrington and has once again had a big season for us. I'd personally give him a rest next week, we need him firing for the play offs.

Whereas I think Buderus got quick play the balls in part because we were tired but also because our season-long defensive lapses crept in around that time, probably again due to being tired. Our overall endurance this season has been poor. And without halfbacks to organise things, we were flailing around a bit, especially when KC was off the pitch.

| Wasn't just Graham struggling at marker - our marker defence was dreadful all day long, regardless of who was in there.
I've never seen us look so vulnerable at marker, but then Buderus is a class act.

| After watching the game again, I couldn't help but notice Jammer's defense all game. From the very early stages he is trotting back, not at all concerned with chasing back. Chasing back is something he normally does for nigh on 80 minutes, reference the chase back on Rob Burrow to force him into the corner in the league game. There were several half breaks early doors that he just has no interest in chasing down, even though he's close enough to get involved.
This leaves me pondering a few things. Was he warned he'd be doing a huge stint so to pace himself and last the whole game? Was he injured? Did he go into the game with a knock? Or was it the kick to the head off Sinfield that had an impact? (Although this was after he first refused to chase back a break). Or is he just fatigued after a season of being flogged due to our lack of props?
