I'm surprised that we never put in a bid for Tronc as he's a huge forward and is Darren Britt-like with his offloads at times, just what we needed. I understand that we are a bit tight on the purse strings with the stadium and such, but Wakefield got themselves a great player there.

Think JK may be a little too shrewd to let the players think like that. In all honesty its probably only the one fan who's thinking this way as well! Saints, especially at home, is always a difficult task, not impossible but I'm confident we can at least give you a very good game.

Tronc is one hell of a prop going off our pre season friendly against Wakefield. Korkidas seems to be playing well again aswell now that he's back at the club he probably see's as home.

They'll be dangerous Wakefield. They've got a big pack and a couple of really dangerous halfbacks. They'll be a tough game for anybody this year but i'd back Saints to have enough to take the game.

think thats probably a fair assessment. despite our good start i would be surprised if we took the two points. it doesn't take much for a couple of late tries when the game is already won to put a completely different perspective on the result either

i think what i said has been taken in the wrong context, what i meant is that over the years you would look at the Saints line up and think crikey we are gonna get a spanking, but know without sounding like i'm going over the top or getting too confident i just think we can beat you at your place again and it wouldn't be a shock to me

Wakefield have an underated and clever coach and a well organised team. They are to be respected.

I am interested how we fare against them, because I am not convinced we are out of dour Mick's doldrums just yet.

This match constitutes a real test against a team high on confidence and well drilled. I suspect Wakefield will have their own litmus test, and be determined to accomplish claiming a victory over last seasons granfd finalists on their own turf.

Having said that, they do need to work on their defence. From the highlights alone the defence last week was awful in parts.
