As bad as I've seen in many years. Completely and utterly intentional and could have left Lomax in a very bad spot.

It's a far worse tackle than the one that ended McKinnon's career. So will the RFL have the balls to back that with a ban that tops the 7 that were handed out for that tackle?

I'm not sure what he was trying to achieve by lifting Lomax. But 100% a worse tackle than the AMc one. He will get the bog standard 3 maych and £300 fine. I wonder if the skullcap saved Lomax a little there

How can you see that as not being malicious? He had no reason at all to lift him. Once he has lifted him, did he really have to drive his head down?

Not enough due to the potential for serious injury. Jonny got away with that one but he could have easily been seriously hurt.

100% sending off and no way the ref would cop out with the on report call due to recent incident in the NRL.

I'd like to think the was no Malice in it but I'm sure he and lomax had words earlier on in the game.

Looked like he was holding his collar bone after the tackle.
The lift itself with Jonnys head tucked in put pressure on the spine(Neck) that was before the landing that could have resulted in serious neck damage. Wether or not it was intentional is irrelevant. It was an illegal tackle and should be severely dealt with

As I said on the vt thread, lomax showed a remarkable amount of courage and skill to let himself be led by the head - in that position it's a natural reaction to tuck the head in, which could of led to a nightmare

Looked as though he was definitely driving his head into the ground, that could have had a serious outcome only for Lomax reacting in the last spear, I think Ferres was close to the edge on a couple of tackles today.

Should be more than what Micky Mac got at Wigan 6-8 matches for me

If he doesn't get 5+ games for it then there is something wrong. You only have to see how these tackles can go wrong in McKinnon's case. Make the point now.

Fella got 7 for the McKinnon tackle. Granted the consequences arent as severe, that shouldnt detract from the careless and reckless position he had Jonny in and what could have been!

Bad tackle , no need to be lifting him like that. He should get the book thrown at him but I'm sure the RFL will wuss out.

I don't think they will with the McKinnon incident.

It's to much of a sore point at the moment with what's going on in the NRL so I think they will punish him.

tbf it is out of character for Ferres, which should count in his favour. The tragic event in Oz will not though

The linesman's comments won't though. If they look at the passages of play before it, Ferres is clearly worked up and took his anger out on Lomax.

Well it certainly contributed to his team losing the game
