| What an outstanding performance from the head-capped wonderboy. Why, for the love of Christ, has he not been playing there all his career? Absolutely incredible tonight in attack, his chiming into the line and more importantly the pace he did it at and the passes he chose when he got there was the difference between the sides. They were lacking in the halves tonight and Monaghan had a terrible game for them, constantly looking for cheap penalties rather than exploiting the quick play the balls they did get with more urgency.
Lomax in defense? Utterly outstanding tonight. Collecting kicks? Perfection, the catch, dart and roll to get out of the in goal was amazing. Wello, bless him, wouldn't have even got to the kick. The two match winning or rather match confirming tackles on Riley were wonder tackles, the kind Wello was making 8 years ago. I didn't think he had that in him. Take a bow sonshine, take a bow. Unless there is an injury and we need to move J-Lo, either to him or as cover in the halves, he should not be moved from there.
Wilkin got Sky's MOM and he did have a stormer, particularly in defense and with his kicking game. When we defend well he has the calm head to control things okay. The pack should put their feet up tonight, I'll personally go round and clean all their boots for them if they like. Sia, TP, Robes, LMS, Walker, Greenwood, Flanagan all superb, Manu disciplined which was important tonight.

| Lomax was my MoM tonight. I agree that Wilkin had a great game but Lomax saved the day on a number of occasions as well as played some tremendous stuff in attack.
I'm now a fully paid up convert to Lomax at fullback. He has to stay there. We cannot go back.

| He was pretty special tonight. I was going to give my MOM to a forward, but the forwards worked so well as a pack, that it was hard to pick one out above the others.
In a way that's how a pack should be all committed to the effort, so the glory boys can take the bows.
Lomax was the one back for me that did not put a foot wrong. Don't get me wrong the backs and forwards were good, but if you were hyper critical you could find fault.
Jonny was flawless tonight.

| Lomax will definitely be at #1 with Wellens definitely at #13. Cast iron, 100%.

I'll have to think of some new material if that's true. Part of me will be sad, end of an era for both Wello and myself. That has been one of my main go to topics for a good few years now.
Any suggestions?

I'm not entirely sure, you'll just have to see how the season progresses and find a new target I guess. Mind you Wellens will still be playing so there's still a few side swipes to be had.

Nathan Brown stated it as a fact on the red button show tonight. He said that Wello was aware of the plans and fully supportive of the change. So we have a new fullback. Wello is to play loose forward. You're going to have to think up a whole new reason for being!

| I think Wello could be a revelation at 13.
Finally J-Lo in his rightful position.
Lovely stuff.

No, I wouldn't have thought so. Tomkins and Hardaker are fine fullbacks, so I doubt we'll see Lomax playing there for England any time soon.

I actually think Lomax looks the more rounded fullback of all three of them.

| Fair play. He had a good game.
It shouldn't be forgot that Lomax was getting plenty of stick on here recently. He's proving his critics wide of the mark.

I wasn't one of them giving stick but for those who were, it was as a number 7 and the stick was more about him not being suited to that position. Turns out those people were right, wouldn't you say? The lad is like a person reborn at fullback.

| Like everone else I thought he was excellent.
Getting out of the goal area without touching down and the tackle on Reilly were the outstanding parts of his game tonight for me.
My only reservation as such is can he take being whacked every week without injury?

| Lomax was not getting stick, just as Lance was not getting stick.
The only comments about them was that they were not half's and we where a club that was FB heavy.
We still are, but Brown is making the best of what he has. He's tried nearly every possible halfback we have and for sure Wilkin is now a shoe in at 7. He may not be a 7, but by god, he has brought us organisation and temperament.
I particularly liked his end of match interview. The SKY spin started with you are looking alot happier this week. Erm no, SKY just don't listen, last week he was happy with the way we where build and felt we where getting there.

I agree. Lomax has both a very good offensive AND defensive game. Whereas Tomkins has his flaws defensively.
I'd say lomax has to be number 2 to Tomkins atm.
Not seen much of hardaker this season, is he injured? I think he kind of rode the wave a little last season. Maybe that's a tad unfair.

| A bit of justification for those of us who've been banging on for years about how his position needs to be at #1 (or #4) and as far away from #7 as possible. Can we now officially just stop wasting his and everyone else's time by trying to make a scrumhalf out of him please Mr. Brown?

| If Lomax keeps up both sides of his game, he's got potential to be a better fullback than Tomkins, who isn't the best defensively. His defence was outstanding last night, always in the right position and some great one-on-one tackles.

He is staying there and wello will be loose forward. I'm happy lomax is staying fullback, I like the way he joins the line outwide acting as a extra halfback.
I'm not sure on wello playing loose forward. It seems we are just trying to fit wello in the team.

It'll be interesting to see how well suited he is to it. He certainly isn't going to be a powerhouse LF, but with Wilkin in the halves it might not be so bad to have someone with decent hands in the back row.

I think our backrow of sia, Manu and flanaghan is pretty impressive but would wello spoil that ?
I've said all along, if he's not fullback he shouldn't play.
