| Went pretty much how I thought it would tonight
Wello arriving ten minutes late for the first try had me worrying a little if I'm honest, but the response from then on was superb. The forwards were utterly superb, Jammer, Puletua, KC, Roby, Dixon were all fantastic.
I think there should be a special mention for Scott Moore tonight, I thought he was absolutely fantastic in all aspects of the game. Brilliant in attack, so solid in defense. His inside ball to Wello to create a half chance was utter genius and he's showing the signs that he's maturing into a fine player.
Flannery takes some stick from you horrible lot but he was great tonight. Senior being injured helped no doubt but Flanners handled everything brilliantly and it was a massive shame he couldn't keep hold of the ball when he went down the right late on. Foster looks a decent enough goalkicker and for me he can keep the wing spot.
Graham got the Sky MOM and it was fully deserved but his performance wasn't out of the ordinary by his extraordinarily high standards. Best prop I've ever seen in the V. Keiron Cunningham was also on his game tonight. His eye for a gap is just the stuff of legend and we'll miss his ability to just ghost out of dummy half and send someone over with a simple 5 yard pass. The timing is perfection and it's impossible to read which of several options he will choose.
Thoroughly enjoyed the game tonight. THAT is how a rugby league game should flow. None of this ridiculous limitless holding down that has helped Wigan to falsly gain top spot.

| Graham, roby, tony p played very well, like they have been doing the last 3 weeks but I think a special mention for young dixon today, I thought he was outstanding in such a tough game. He was really switched on tonight. Very good in defence and carried the ball very well.
Also, Scott Moore had his best game in saints shirt and the unsung hero in Paul clough worked his socks off.
All in all it was very good by all but more so by the young lads. They should all be very proud tonight.
Potter got his tactics spot on, a lot of down field kicks turning the very unfit smith and dodgy hall around.
Well done potter and all the lads.

| The best thing for me tonight, obviously after winning the game, was the fact that all the young lads stood up. The likes of Dixon, Ashurst and Foster all had very solid games, probably there best games in a Saints shirt. If they can continue to progress at that level of performance, then a few people will be surprised, but we'll see.
I thought man of the match could have gone to anyone of Graham, Moore, Roby or Flannery, but there was no-one that had a bad game, even Gardner had his best game for a while. Couldn't knock anyone and with several key players missing, it was a very good performance, but Leeds were also poor, but thats taking nothing away from a very good Saints performance. It goes to show that the saying still apply's 'never write the saints off'.

| I like threads like this
Leeds were pretty poor, and our discipline is still an issue, although we were pinged a little unfairly at times I thought
However Saints were pretty hot with ball in hand. Even Ade Gardner looked like he was playing above himself, and your backline that looked poor before kickoff, stood up very well to what was thrown at it....even though that wasn't much. After the amount of ball and possession that Saints had over Leeds, that should probably have been a 40 point drubbing.
Saying that, the bounce of the ball, a VR decision or two, and that game could have ended up even worse for Leeds or a 28-30 job.
It kind of restored my faith in the season. If Saints play like that again all season, you will be contending the Grand Final. If Leeds play like that we won't, however there were parts of that first half (and flashes in the second) that showed that if we can do it even over a 60 minute period per game, we could wipe some teams out
I still have a ridiculous feeling that it will be a Saints v Leeds final again! Although I think the 4 in a row will be a step too far....

I heard you the 4th time. I've missed about 11 Saints games in 25 years. My commitment to the cause is unquestionable. My posts on here are tongue in cheek, often exagerrated and part of my own way of dealing with the stress of top level sports.

I thought saints played some pretty good rugby at times tonight with strike players like gidley, meli and pryce out. Those three along with eastmond are our best attacking players, so not bad to put 41 points on the champs.
Maybe potter did his homework and thought leeds are weak around the lay the ball?
Anyhow brian, it's whole lot better than scoring off kicks to the wings.
I think that performance tonight was very impressive with such a young side out, wigan should maybe watch the tape and see how to play with few players out injured.

Quins scored some superb tries last night by moving the ball around, no complaints from me.
What I'm complaining about is the call for "speeding up the play the ball" yet completely ignoring the fact that the ball is not being played correctly.
As you know it's something I have commented on for a long time, and not just about Saints.
Whilst I've got my moaning head on I see we had another referee who tonight decide to even the penalty count up when the game was already decided.
That's happening far too often in the game as a whole. Again feel free to disagree.

I agree, the play the ball in super league is a complete mess. I think the likes of brown at hudds and your coach are two of the biggest reasons for this imo.
The quick play the ball and runnibg from dunny half just don't happen off the cuff, it's worked on un training and the likes of roby, higham have made it a art form

but would you not also agree that a lot of the scoots come from an incorrect (according to the rules) play the ball.
I detest the Higham / Roby scooter hookers.
More Higham TBH, I've had a lot of arguments on the Wigan and Wire boards about it.
Failed half backs IMO

The scooting dummy half can take poor defensive teams apart though. Some play the balls are incorrect but would you also agree that hudds and wigan slow the game down so much it is spoiling the sport ? Super league is not so great to watch anymore, its like watching two players lay on someone with the ball for 80 mins.
I don't think it's a secret that wigan and hudds slow the game down to be on a level par with the likes of saints.
