I heard one of the wags (Rather hot too) say tonight before the game that losing would mean we'd won one in the last 7 games. Is that right?

I can't be bothered looking up the results to be honest, but is this current run statistically our worst ever in the Super League era? It's got to be up there.

Not sure to be honest. Me and Despondent Dave were trying to figure out if this was the first time we'd gone 6 consecutive games without scoring 20 points in a single game.

Well we lost 11 games and drew 1 in 2003
lost 9 and drew 2 in 2001
lost 10 and drew 1 in 2005

so clearly we have done far worse than this season.

As for 1 win in 7 thats complete rubbish

In our last 7 games we have defeated Quins Wigan and Hudds in the league and lost to Hull KR, Leeds and Les cats in League, along with Hudds in cup.

Looking at those losses Hull KR and Leeds away would always be classed as tough asks, while les cats was a dead rubber.

2003 was bad year!

hull kr beating us twice.
wakefield beating us at kr...(first time in years)
losing to salford at the willows...(first time for ages)
catalan winning for the first time at kr.
struggling against a weakened huddersfield side on our own ground.
playing boring one man rugby..not scoring many tries...while all the other teams or on the up..we are on the down.
team spirit doesnt seem what it used to be under this bloke..and if we dont have a decent run in the playoffs..they should pay him off and get rid..he's usless.

The above I agree with. Its all down to our performance next week against Hull KR, if we don,t perform then we must assume his coaching abilty is being exposed as overated.
Most of this season I,ve given Mick Potter the benefit of the doubt due to the injuries and transitons. But when you see the likes of Long, Pyrce, Gardner, Gidley, Flannery, Wilkin, Meli, Gilmour underperfoming, does this means he has no influence and motivation on these players.

I think your worst run may have been in 2003. That Good Friday when our kids somehow won saw both sides go into it on the back of poor form. Think that loss marked four defeats in a row for Saints. Not sure if you lost the next match but memory seems to recall you spanking Warrington on Sky at home?

I think what I refer to may have been a 70+ points win though that saw David Plange get the sack. I may be thinking totally wrong on that though.

Based on those league standings there are only 5 teams that have improved their league positions on last season. Huddersfield clearly being the most improved.

We cant score shyt at the moment. 2nd in the league, huge amoutn of tries scored in a season,yet the last 2 months has seen us stutter and score about 3 tries a month... its dull as shyt to watch, it realy is dull as shyt, its not the RL to keep the yougn kids entertained and come back week after week is it.... my son is saying he rather stay in the black bull playing rugby on the bowling green, or actualy just not go atal as he is BORED....

well done saints, drive the kids out the game with your passes to the floor and slick moves like the "5 drive and a kick" move, and the "high and wide pass thats so slow when it arrives to ade he is smashed and it must effect him" move.

do you think this bad run is because referee's have stopped letting saints have their own way when it comes to penalties?
maybe we are seeing just how good st helens are without the benefit of scoring tries of the back of dodgy penalties
