What are everyone's thoughts on Danny Sculthorpe?

the ultimate average journey man helped along by having a strong rugby league blood line !! He is bobbins!! I would love it if you signed him!! He makes bailey look like graham

Used to have potential but his form and fitness are unreliable.

Can be very good on his day, but way too inconsistent and indisciplined to hack it as a top line prop forward.

Is this a loaded question? He has the potential to be the best prop in Super League. He's big, strong and his offload is outstanding. However he often makes poor calls with regards to his offloads and he's diabetic I believe so his fitness is questionable.

Talented prop who has never achieved his potential due to bad luck and potentially an attitude problem. If he was going cheap enough I'd like to see him at Saints, maybe on an initial 1 year deal.

Sculthorpe is one of those players who has had more excuses and caveats made for him than a Tory MP with a penchant for Duck Islands.

He has the pace of Jemal chrisholm, the strength of peacock, the drive of graham, the feet of mcguire, the accelaration of burrow, the ball handling skills of Lautiti and the kicking skills of sinfield. The best player in super league, if not the world.

Tried his best to become as big a RL player as his brother, but isn't quite as talented naturally, but tries and tries and tries, keeps going regardless of injury and type 1 diabetes a credit to the sport with regards to his efforts with that particular illness.

Sadly didn't quite make it to consistant first choice SL level prop, and is definately better suited to coming on from the bench.

If he wasn't Pauls brother then I think he would be less known but also less in the firing line when people talk about him.

impressed me recently at huddersfield...wasnt a fan before, quite possibly earned himself a contract with us, time will tell...

I remeber him destroying us at the JJB once. On his day an able player, but has obviously struggled to settle. For me, his wayward style seems to have pushed him into the "4th Prop" role a la Maurie & Feka. We don't need one of those.

Also, if he struggles with his diabetes, I don't see anyone wanting him as anything other than a squad player.

A better bet than Hargreaves?

I was thinking the same. If Saints signed Danny Sculthorpe and Luke Bailey for next season it'd do for me.

He's no world beater, but in short bursts he can be excellent and he wouldn't exactly be our first choice either with Graham, Maurie, Puletua and Bailey(?).

If all our props had broken legs I still wouldn't offer him a contract.

must admit wasnt a fan before he came to us, but since he got here the giants have got him fit and now looks a decent player, certainly better than i thought he was.
