Kyle Eastmonds agent is Martin Offiah same has Myler at Salford, just hope Mr Offiah keeps out of his development and we don't end up with Eastmond asking for a huge amount of money or a transfer etc.

Martin Offiah will certainly want something to happen just to get his percentage of any movement on money/transfers retc.

I dont think Sir Mc will suffer fools well. If Offiah starts trying to ruin the lad, say goodbye and play smith/wheeler/lomax/next young'un. there is big competition for places in our halves so the club, not the players are in the driving seat.

Martin Offiah would have no chance against the Big Macs.

All agents have an interest in seeing their clients move elsewhere. Offiah isn't the first and I very much doubt he'll be the most greedy.

I think there's a real problem with agents representing more than one player that can be involved in effectively the same or closely related deals.

This happened when we were apparently going to sign Steven Wild and Roby was going to go to Oz. They both had the same agent who basically talked the whole thing up then convinced each player that the best thing was to sign an improved deal at their original club and somehow convinced each club that he'd done them a great favour letting them keep their player and walked off with a big wedge of cash for not agreeing any transfer deals.

A similar thing could happen with Kyle and Myler with moves being talked up when players don't necessarily want them. The important thing to remember is that agents earn more cash if they make things happen so they'll engineer moves for their own financial gain not necessarily in the best interests of the players involved.

I must say news that Kyle has Offiah as his agent worries me.

Agents can get good deals for players, and stop them being exploited, however the agents themselves often exploit the players and imo give them dubious advice, purely and simply so the agent can benefit.

I wonder for example if Danny Brough is under Offiahs agency, as it would not surprise me if Offiah would then try to do a double deal of getting Brough to Saints and Eastmond to Wigan or Wire.
Simply spreading the rumour re Brough could be used to unsettle Saints youngsters to convince them to move on.

Kyle Eastmond has asked for Shaun Long`s Money "fact" and they`ll give it him, don`t listen to anything else you hear, its rubbish.

I wouldn't give Eastmond 50% of Long's money if Long was on £100k+

I don't believe for a second Kyle has asked for the same money as the Lance Todd Legend.

Eastmond can't demand Long's money, the reason Long is presumabley paid so much as he's been the best English scrum half for years.

There's a major difference between the Eastmond/Myler scenarios. Offiah can tell Myler to move so his talent equals trophies. Eastmond will pick up trophies at Saints so there is no better place for his to be, especially with Long moving on at the end of the season.

It's amazing that all these insights always come from posters on their first post.

Why should Offiah cause you any more worries than the current crop of agents do?

Kyle hasn't asked for SEAN Long's money, whoever told you that is full of e. Kyle want to play for saints and win things, If he performs his wages will look after themselves

Something is clearly amiss with Kyle Eastmond. In the precious few times he has played, he has made an impact in almost all of them. He seems to have it all, the cocky attitude, the passing game, pace, a step and a clever kicking game. Being a midget his defense isn't great but he could always hide on the wing like Long himself does. He seems a perfect match for our vacant scrum half spot next season.

This all makes it surprising that he isn't given any game time at scrum half, or anywhere for that matter. Games like the Celtic home game are perfect occasions to give him the time to learn the position in the side he would be leading the following season. But he isn't even in the 17.

It makes you wonder if there is something going on behind the scenes with his contract, another player signing in his position for next season or both.

If the club expect him to step up and replace Longy next season with absolutely no experience then it's incredibly harsh.

But, at the same time, we're aiming to win the GF at the end of the season, and leaving your first choice scrum half and play maker on the bench probably isn't the best preparation....

Everything is a compromise between success now and success more long term. So If you accept that, then that game was one to compromise on. It's not as we're not points clear if in the unlikely circumstance that it all wents tits up.

why does it matter who his agent is? Regardless of who is his agent, they will all do exactly the same thing to get the best for their client...if a young player wants to earn ridiculous sums of money rather than play for the number1 club - is he the type of person we want at Saints?

For me it mainly matters who his agent is when the same agent also represents another player that may involved in the same or related deal. In most other forms of business he'd have to declare a conflict of interest and only represent one side of any deal.
