| for all his ability, eastmond by your own fans admition goes down like a premiership footballer. He isn't the toughest! The Aussies and kiwis will batter him. if tomkins and eastmond are gonna play we need to get a good supply of body bags when we play the big two!

To be fair. Hopefully he is taking the place of Rob Burrows. Despite playing in a dominant Leeds team with a great pack, he is no threat at all these days imo. He also gets knocked out more times than MikeTyson in his latter years.
Eastmond and Tomkins would be great addition imo, especially against the kiwis.

Eastmonds can't even get a gig at 7 for his own club let alone England plus he's so soft, When he's been targeted in defence and attack week in week out for 8 years lets see how many times he get knocked out! at the minute eastmonds gets injured in every game he plays in! tomkin might get a game against France? Mcguire and burrow will play in the halfs when it matters.

| If Eastmond is in the squad, he may just ne selected as cover for half backs and centres. He has shown more potential and ability in a handful of games at centre than most other British centres have all season. He has defended very well recently, but there would obviously be concerns coming up against the likes of Inglis.
Certainly a better option than Sykes.

| I think he showed again on Saturday that you've uncovered (and developed) a real gem there. He's still a bit raw and needs polishing, but he's dangerous and I was nervous every time he had the ball on Saturday. Is he ready for test matches? I don't know, but after years of conservative selection yielding disappointment, I'd be happy to see him get a go, at least off the bench. If we're going to win a big test match against the Aussies or Kiwis we're going to need players who can make things happen with ball in hand. Eastmond looks more likely to do that than most other options available at the moment.

| Eastmond is certainly worth a squad place. I'd probably use him from the bench as he can cover fullback, centre, and the halfback positions.
Sam Tomkins has been the form halfback this season and also should get an England game in this series.

Myler would appear to be a shoo-in for the number 7 spot - would you have Tomkins, Myler and Eastmond all in the 17?

No, but in a four game series (including Wales) I think they will all get some game time.
IMO the build up for 2013 World Cup needs to start now.

They're all a bit inexperienced, but if they're better than their more experienced competitors, why not? I'd want a fairly wise old head at 13, not necessarily Sinfield, but somebody who can be a calming influence. Ditto at 9 I guess. Roby's got a bit of experience under his belt now though.
We've been taking the safe and steady option for years. It has yielded approximately **** all. Why not take a chance now?

It's also pretty likely, if he stays in league, that he'll be in the international set up in the future, so the experience would be good for him, even if he's not expected to get much game time.

Yet you believe Eastmond gets injured in 'every game' are you stupid ? Your whinge about Burrows is as funny as it gets. Rob Burrows is a very tough cookie and i dident state otherwise, yet you've whinged like a bit*h! However no matter how tough it still doesent move the fact that over that last 2 years he as been knocked out a few times.
Rob Burrows in our 4 games this season as done nothing against us with ball in hand, He as been no danger imo. He should be behind Tomkins, Myler and Easdtmond for me.

Eastmond defo in, with Wilkin, Roby, Graham and Moore.
No Fa'asavalu, Pryce, Wellens or Gardner from last years shambles.
Cany argue with the Saints inclusions/omissions.

Do you think he'll be that bothered?
I'm glad the Saints contingent is down this year after the World Cup humiliation. I'm another one who has no qualms about the players called up.
It would be good to see all the young players have some game time in the Four Nations. I think we should treat that comp as a practice run (or one of a couple of practice runs!) for the World Cup. Since the old guard clearly isn't working, new, young hopefuls should get their chance. After seeing Eastmond perform, including the goal kicks, at the Grand Final it is clear he can take pressure, which I think is great because sometimes a guy of that age may be a bit overawed by the occasion. However, he seemed to rise to it and he played out of his skin.

| I think Pryce should still be in there. OK, his form hasn't been the best but surely he is a much better option than Chris Bridge? If he does hit form, he would really worry the Aussies, i bet there ting themselves at facing Bridge. Even if he didn't get picked, he gives plenty of versatility and if he did hit form, could be devastating.

You are joking, right? After his World Cup non-appearance and having not appeared at Saints for months Pryce does not deserve to be recognised in any way at all. He should be dropped next season and someone more deserving with more commitment given a chance. But then I'd drop Meli and Gardner too along with Hargreaves, so I'd probably need to start recruiting from the terraces.
I think the players chosen from Saints are the right players to play for England. I just hope Eastmond isn't bench fodder but actually gets game time. I'm sure the others will see game time as they are more experienced and clearly Smith still holds them in some regard after the World Cup.

Pryce has been in the England / GB setup for 10 years - and never done anything of note.
On form this year he shouldnt even be in the Saints team - never mind the England team; and his performances and attitude last year in the World Cup mean that he should never be selected again.

OK, lets not pick anyone that didn't play well last year in the World Cup, see how far we get then. Nearly everyone, bar the odd player, had a nightmare from the start of the compeition until the end, not just Pryce. The way some of our fans are talking, we are the worst team in the league. Tell you what, fans of near enough every other club could only dream of having the talent we have in our team. Finishing second in the league, reaching the Challenge Cup Final and the Grand Final, with that team must be some sort of miracle, i'm surprised we didn't get club of the year. How can people give Potter so much stick if we are still able to compete and be up there at the top of the table?

I saw Chris Bridge play centre in 3 games for wire this season and he looked very impressive in all of them (and a [inatural [/icentre to boot). I'm not a fan of his, as you have probably realised. I've seen him a few times this season, and i've never really noticed anything of note from him.
