| Nathan Brown seems to really rate him:
"He also paid tribute to Moore after the youngster came up with an impressive individual display that included the all-important first try of the night.
"Scotty is playing some decent footy," he added. "He had four or five decent games and then an average one a couple of weeks ago, but played really well again last week and we've been working hard to try to get some consistency from him.
"He's only a young kid but he is a player of immense talent and I think he has got a long future in the game if he chooses to work hard at his game, which he is doing.""

| Is it true he's out of contract at the end of this year? That effectively makes him not a Saints player. If he carries on playing like this other teams will be tempting him with big wages.

| Before Saints take up the option to retain Moore's services he must demonstrate:
a) A high level of consistency. The fact that questions about such have already been raised by the Huddersfield coaching team is not a good start for Scott.
b) An obvious thirst for success.
Proving (b) is the trickier of the two. Although if he were to claim he's only interested in pursuing his career at Saints he'd go a long way toward it.
If a big offer is made by another club we should walk away.

| Never heard of him before and I all I knew was he was out on loan at Castleford and we (giants) have signed him for a year, so was not sure what to expect.
He has been brilliant from day one, especially against Catalans and if you get a chance check out highlights on SL tv of him for that match and also Wigan IMO mom and is always within top 3 of mom for all games bar Hull FC.
If his contract is up at and of season (led to believe) I really hope we can persuade him to sign with us. I suppose a big factor is, if KC decides to stay for another year or two.

| From all the reports i hear about him, he does seem to be improving year on year, and i think he is still only 20/21? Because he debutised at 16 alot of people think he is now a seasoned professional, at his age he still has alot to learn and i for one hope he does it at saints.

Next season, if we extend his contract and the King stays on for another season, I'd be happy to loan him to Huddersfield for another year. He seems to be developing into a good player under Nathan Brown.

SLightly offtopic here Rogues, but whilst on the subject of hookers, i certainly remember you touting Mcillorum as GB's starting hooker for years to come. Now it seems all the Wigan fans want shut of him. Whats gone wrong?

I don't think Wigan fans want shut, but it's more to do with the balance of the team.
It's probably more in how we best utilise Tommy. Is he bettter used as a 7 then into the 9 position as interchange with Riddell. McIlorum IMO is still a very good prospect, but will he play third behind Riddell and Tommy.
A lot will depend on what happens to Tim Smith, I believe Wigan are looking at a replacement for him which could also affect McIlorums position, but that maybe for next season.

| Did anyone see his try today? Very good dive back over the line when the defenders were thinking the ball would go out wide or something (don't know what they were thinking cos they left a rather large gap for him to dive through).

The only problem was that he didn't get the ball down. Noble was livid, the reference to referees decisions was very quietly made, however on Radio Manchester he was a little less diplomatic.
You didn't get to see the Roberts no try or the O'Loughlin pull back. I don't know if Sky will show them either.
In all the times I've been in the South Stand bar after a game I've never known Phil Veivers to publicly criticise officials the way he did after last Fridays game.

I see McIlorum as a thugish type of player.
Errrrm if you like, a Terry Newton but without any of his skill.

Yes, I picked up on Noble's displeasure at refs on the Super League Show today.
Some belting biff in that match too. Pity the Beeb didn't show all of it!

So if you are to be believed, a cracking prospect is not getting game time due to the signing of Riddell?

He's played 5 out of the 8 games this season, and missed out on one for disciplinary reasons.

So it seems he is getting game time, so why have I read countless posts on cherry&white wanting shut of him? Also, what do you make about the signing of Gleeson, considering he will be 29 when he signs for you. I remember you berating Saints for the signing of Puletua because he was 29. I take it you are dead set against the signing of Martin Glesson and would rather stick with Goulding because he is young?

I'd like to keep Goulding or have him go out on loan. Gleeson would be a decent option as Bailey will probably go at the end of the season and Carmont will probably go the season after.
The only other centre we have coming through at present is Ian Thornley but I don't see him being ready for another two or three seasons. (he still qualifies at U18 academy level).
Saints are in a similar position playing Gilmour at centre
I'll have a look at the new recruits on Saturday at Orrell in the U18 academy first game of the season.
I wouldn't like to put Ainscough, Thornley, Tomkins and Goulding in at the same time too soon.
We tried that a few years back with Brown, Aspinwall, Robinson, Wild etc and it didn't work.
