A couple of rumours being banded about that a few of your stars are heading to the Stobarts on dual contracts for next year and one of them is the above. Can anybody who follows your reserves give us an update on Tom as in would he be decent for the championship? i do know he scored a hat trick on his debut didnt he?

Tom is a tidy player. Will go well if he goes Widnes and be a great help for him.

Dual contract I assume means we can recall him on needing him?

Will help raise his level of play like it did to Chris Dean.

Tom is a big lad who just needs to mature phyiscally in the strength department, once he starts to run his weight he should be a handfull.

Very safe and solid dealing with kicks.

Can play centre, wing, backrow and fullback.

Made 3 or 4 appearances for the first team at the start of the season when Meli's visa was playing up, and scored some important tries (including the only try of the game away at Celtic).

Regular first team rugby at Widnes would do him the world of good.

Very safe fielding kicks and a strong finisher. Not so pacey, though.

To be honest, when thinking in terms of managing our salary cap, I've been wondering how much more Ade offers on the wing. I don't like to bag Ade, but that just my train of thought at the mo - being an England International, he probably has negotiated a non-to-shabby wage.

The guy was a starting centre at one point in the season. I can't think that he's all of a sudden surplus to requirements.

I was puzzled too, thought for next season Wheeler would be 4 - Eastmond at 7 - Soliola at 11 or 12

I'd be very surprised if Wheel's went unless we can recall at a moments notice!

Perhaps Wheeler is going so the Sonny Bill Williams deal can go through next season

We have to pick a club to opt for the dual contract system so that is more than likely to be St Helens. Basically we take around 3-4 of your fringe players and they run on dual contracts with both clubs. Obviously if Saints are in the poop player wise then they will return to your line up and then back with us the following week or until your injuries clear.

He only just signed a new three year contract with us so surely that's a mistake?

I believe that they'd be on loan as part of these new dual contracts rather than signed outright.

If he's not going to be a first team regular it may be a good move for him as he'll learn nothing playing for the U20s. At least in NL1 he'll be playing against men and getting used to the physical side of the game.

Sounds like a good move to me, it's certainly a step up from reserve team level. Wheeler is quality, he'll be absolutely awesome in NL1. It'll be good for the other two to get some more experience aswell, especially Foster who has been touted as a future prospect.

I'd personally have him in the centres and Soliola in the pack.

However, we're pretty full in the back row next year, only losing Gilmour (and I'd expect Dixon and Ashurst to get as much games next year as they have this of not more), the year after however we possibly lose a few don't we? That may be the time to move Soliola in to the pack and put Wheeler in at centre, added that everything from the club is still indicating that Soliola was signed as a centre.

What's happening with Chris Dean? I was told that he had only signed a one year deal for this year.

As the second tier is will be U20 level next year many players will either move on or go on loan. Vievers and Davies from Wigan are going on loan to Wakefield on loan, while Gerrard is going to Widnes (permanent) and Sam Cunningham has been released.
