Saints are favourites by a distance but we actually go into this one with more then hope of avoiding a tonking!

I wouldn't say either team were "favourites by a distance" really, Wigan are on top form at the moment and Saints being top of the league couldn't be described as massive underdogs although your form probably does give you a slight edge (although that may just be me being negative!)

Early odds on betting sites have us big favourites at 1/5 and wigan 8/5. If this is mumbo jumbo to you a rough translation is (according to the bookies) we are 8x more likely to win, which in my mind is ridiculous!

The odds are always nonsense until the squads are announced - the ones you quote will just be random punters on Betfair etc I reckon.

Good Friday is a special case.

I think he's spot on in his assessment. Saints will have at least 3 or 4 KEY players missing in addition to other regulars and kids such as Frodsham and McGennis that would have been possible replacements.

Saints will get out a decent starting 13, but our strength in recent years has been the quality and impact off the bench we will will not have until the play offs when the below are all back.

It will still be a good game, It will be interesting to see how both teams approach the game with massive fixtures the following weekend.

The handicap will likely be Saints -8, so in theory you're quite big favourites. If you don't fancy your chances just lump on Wigan +8 and you'll be happy either way

Wigan have the same problems at reserve level. This year for instance the Wigan assistant conditioner has had to play twice, Pat Richards brother who was on holiday from Australia has played. We had one game when although we had four subs named only three could play as the fourth was not fit.
We've lost Stuart Howarth for the season, Chris Tuson is out. Last week Shaun Ainscough was carried off, and Steffan Marsh and Karl Pryce also left the field injured.

I've a feeling Wigan reserves 12 month unbeaten run will come to an end on Friday.

Jason Cayless appears to have more chance of playing SL this season than that guy.
