A punter at Stockport Station has just told me that Saints have got their own Real Ale brewed by Robinsons for the new Stadium.

Is there any truth in this?

Not only that, they've hand painted a load of pub signs to have outside the bars in the new stadium, like:

I'm going to mention it to the people at Leigh, but I think the stadium has already sold its soul to the horrific Carlsberg/Tetley 'brewery'.

They will sell more beer at Saint's new ground because they have a bigger average attendance than we do.

I do not like cold/smooth flow bitter so do not buy it.

The pub signs look ok though.

I don't blame you mate! Smoothflow and that crappy so-called lager such as Fosters, Carling, Carlsberg and the rest of that tasteless, ice cold gnats is awful stuff. Robinsons usually do a good pint and I'll be looking out for that Saints Gold on Friday.

I am not a bitter drinker at all, but tried a pint of it last Friday and was very impressed!! Think I will definately be sinking a fair few more over the season!!

Its great when somebody comes up with a good idea and it actually gets implemented.

Robinsons know their stuff, so I reckon they will have made a brew that appeals to bitter and lager drinkers alike, nothing too strong or complex.

if they are put off by the nasty word "Saints" they will never get in the stadium
Im sure some hardy souls will try it,but I think the majority of the speccys in our stadium will be Saints fans who will love it

£3 is an excellent price for a pint at a sports ground. You pay about that much for half a mouthful at Old Trafford.

I seem to recall reading it is £3.20

However why you would want to drink Fosters is beyond me. Its not even a genuine Australian beer.

Real aussies drink XXXX, Carlton Beer and Tooheys. Oh and the XXXX is around 5% alcohol and tastes a lot better than the 3% rubbish that was sold in the UK as XXXX.

And Victoria Bitter, which isn't a bitter at all!

I'm a bit of a real ale bore myself but I can't see the Saints gold being a real ale like robinsons sell in some pubs as it will be impossible to keep it will just be a decent keg I think and as good as you can get at any sports venue.

£3 a pint isn't bad as it was £3 for just a 300ml bottle of carlseberg at widnes

This is RL buddy. I'm sure even our harshest opponents are not that petty and small-minded that they would put their own enjoyment second to something like product branding lol.

I'd definatley try it. Got to be better than the cr*p they sell at the DW.

It looks like Nitro keg to me when i had it last week.

Its big disadvantage is that they have to pour a half, then let it settle, before pouring the other half.
Similar to Guinness, which by the way is also on sale in the ground.

I did see hand pulled Unicorn bitter on sale within the Founders bar.
