Would it be wise to play the match at the same time as an England World Cup game, we all know how caught up the country gets when it's on (especially if England are needing to win to progress).

Would it affect the rugby crowd considerably enough for a change to be made (to Saturday probably)?

Cue the I'm alright Jack Saints supporters, "It won't effect our gate money"

Not that it matters, Sky will decide the date and time.

It won't affect our gate receipts so personally I couldn't give two shi$s.

I'm sure Sly will see sense and move the game.

Why would you be bothered? You'll be sat in your armchair no matter what!

Im not bothered , who in their right mind would miss a Saints / Wigan derby for Algeria ?

Who in their right mind would miss any rugby league match for any soccer match?

If you gave me the choice of England v Germany in a World Cup Quarter Final and Saints v Celtic in a league game, I wouldn't choose the Saints game that's for sure.

England vs Algeria is hardly a world class game now is it? I know where i'll be.

What's the issue here? 2 different sports and 1 far superior than the other. Show your allegiance and dont be a sheep. Follow YOUR team.

But it's not that simple. Sport isn't mutually exclusive. You can be passionate about one sport whilst also being passionate about another.

The world cup, forgetting England's involvement for a while, is a fantastic event. A jamboree of sporting goodness, depending on the times it's on TV. I can't wait for it.

Then there is England. Despite what a few people on here say about it being wendyball it's also a sport I like watching. I played it up to semi pro level.

your quite right. i cant watch football, it bores me, however a couple of people i stand with are liverpool season ticket holders and never miss a game, they go to saints home and away, but if there's a clash they go to liverpool, does this make them bad saints fans? no at all.

It makes them more loyal Liverpool fans, though, if Saints lose out every time. So I would say their heart really lies with soccer, not rugby league. Whereas there are many of us whose hearts lie with rugby league and even if Saints were playing Celtic Crusaders (or whatever they're going to be called next season), we would still be at Knowsley Road to watch them as opposed to elsewhere watching any other sporting event which may be taking place at the same time.

Probably something to do with a Liverpool Season ticket costing about 4 times as much a Saints one!
