| Great to see Ando going great guns in the NRL. After a poor start, Parramatta have won their last 5 matches (conceding only 20 points in the last 4) and are in the play offs as it stands. If they can make the play offs you'd fancy them to go well, being the form team in the competition.
This isn't designed for people to beg for him back by the way, just nice to see his coaching methods paying dividends in the "big league".

| I don't think there is any doubt about his superiority over Potter at all. It's just a shame he had a life outside of the sport to consider.

Harsh but sadly I think you might be right - Potter is/was a gamble and at the moment I'm not sure he's the right man - I still think a more experienced coach would have been better with the amount of change we are going through. I was worried earlier in the season but winning games can cover over cracks, sadly now injuries and maybe a lack of confidence are opening those cracks up and Potter is being shown up a bit imo ...
On the thread topic - it's good to see DA doing well over in Aus

Yeah, Anderson made light of injury problems in his first season as we blazed a trail to the GF and we were amazing in the semi final with a near to full strength side . . . .

He struggled a bit but in fairness to Anderson he came in mid season, Potter has had an offseason and has had his own backroom team etc etc from word go.

This off season? What are you on about? This isn't football and it isn't the Warrington Wolves where signings are made. We've made our signings for next season and will let 3 or 4 go. Unless Mick Potter has been secretly working on a cloning device we're in danger of a drop to mid table anonymity next season.

I'm sure we said that last year I will as i have stated many times be dissapointed if we dont sign at least one prop. We never replaced Baloo and then never replaced Fozzard (who couldn't get in the 17 in 2006) and we havn't replaced them from within either, and any kids are years away from SL level. The might of Bryn managed 36 mtrs in 5 carries all match on Sunday. I cant help thinking I actually could do better my self!

Aye, but we were top of the league. At present, we're in danger of losing even that. And Potter has had more time in a season to know and work with his players than Anderson had in his first season. That's important.
I'm glad he's doing well. I've been keeping an eye on the Eels' progress since he went over there. Reading snippets like he has turned around their defence and stuff like that sound so familiar, and just makes me want to fly out there, kidnap him and bring him back here to rescue us from our implosion.

And we might finish top. Despite a smaller squad and a worse injury list.

Not as important as a bigger squad of more experienced players.
Anderson had Long all year, only losing him at Wigan at the end of the year. We've had Long out much of the year, and off form for much of the rest.
It's frankly a miracle that we're top given the problems Potter has had this year.

Agreed, hope he's a massive success. but we're far from imploding.
This site cracks me up - we win at Wire with a weakened team and we have the best set up in the league and a generation of superstars in waiting. We lose a couple and Potter is a bum and our squad is a bunch of fairies.
I prefer to wait until the play-offs have finished before judging Potter. Fact is he might yet eclipse Anderson's first year despite all the setbacks. And I'm sure if we do, he'll be the messiah on here

| Watch Haynes try yesterday against St George at a certain website. Fantastic
Hayne is the reason for Parra's resurgence, not Daniel Anderson

But who spotted Hayne?
That's right!! Daniel Anderson.
Who put him at fullback?
Yes! You got it! Daniel Anderson.
You also forget that Daniel Anderson has tightened up Eels' defence, which was seive-like. Good defence wins matches. He drilled that into Saints, and it worked a treat.

whaaaat??
He was already at parra and playing fullback when DA turned up. What did DA do? Put him at stand off. It was only when Hayne and his team mates told DA to stop playing him there that he switched him back to fullback.
Take off the red and white specs mate

He was in the reserves. The previous coach did not think he would make it at first grade. DA brought him into the first team and put him at fullback.

In which case, the RL press over here totally made it up as that is where I got the information from. The word was 'languishing'. Hayne was 'languishing' in the reserves because the previous coach didn't think he would make it at first grade but Anderson played him at fullback and his career has taken off since.
