On a few sites like Facebook and the rest, a few people want Paul Wellens to start at Full Back or be on the bench due to his exploits in the Grand Final last year. Now I take a different view on this, there is no room for sentiment in this game as we need our strongest 17 players out there that are fit and to be quite honest nobody deserves dropping after last weeks performance despite Salford being so poor. I am totally confident that the team are more than capable of matching it with Sydney, having Wilkin in the halves could especially help us out in defence with him being a extra forward and to people jumping on his back wanting to be dropped is just ridiculous, get behind the guy, he is our leader for crying out loud. Its a shame Luke Walsh isn't fit but I am confident Wilkin and Burns have the ability to guide the team around wish they did superbly against Salford and to some extent against Catalan. If we are only 4-6 points behind in the final quarter then I will back us too win. The first 20 minutes like any Rugby League game is crucial, get in the arm wrestle and dominate and get on top of the Sydney pack, good kicking game and see where it takes us. I am looking forward to hearing 18,500 Saints fans roaring the team on. The players wont leave anything in the dressing room, we as supporters need to make sure we leave nothing left in our voices and make Langtree Park a caldron of noise. I hope everyone enjoys the game...
I hope for the sake of this inaugural competition that St Helens do beat South Sydney. The series may receive adverse coverage down under if South Sydney put some points on the UK Super League Champions.
