Thing is though, the Salford player just ran between the two of them and they were running alongside him. It's not like they were facing him. The three of them were running together. There would have been no loss to the outside if Meli had tackled the Salford player as he was on Meli's inside and they were all going in the same direction.
And anyway, I just learned this morning that Meli has made all of 20 tackles this season, and missed 10. So he does hardly any work in defence and then when he does he fluffs half of it. That to me is a very good reason to give a young local player a chance.
