| Who's idea was it to try and take Huddersfield on in the pack, with dour one-man rugby today? Even at full-strength, it's a questionable idea, but missing Cayless and Fa'asavalu, the gameplan seems all the more suicidal.
We seem completely unable to break the opposition line at the minute. We lack ideas, dummy runners and moves. When the game was lost and we started throwing the ball about we actually looked dangerous and scored points.
On top of everything - and, I must give credit to Huddersfield as they outplayed us in every single facet of the game today - they seemed to out-enthuse us. Their line-speed, kick-chase and intensity was on a level we simply could not match. This does not bode well at all.
Unlike some of our more despondent posters today, I don't think that this performance/result symbolises the 'end of an era' but there are fundamental lessons that MUST be learned if we are to challenge for the SL title.
On the plus side- we have a rare weekend off to rest some battered bodies, and hopefully we got our standard 'Old Trafford' performance out of us tonight and will turn up all-guns blazing if we make it there!

| spot on. Its no wonder Hudds were flying off the line and getting at us when we do the exact same thing in every set!
ive been saying that for a while that we lack ideas near the oppositions line. Its always the same thing. Graham gives the ball to pryce round the back with a dummy runner for eastmond.....
why didnt we hit the lead runner a few times? that would put doubt into hudds defence and stop them flying out and picking out pryce and eastmond

| We do seem very predictable.
On Boots'n all Cullen often highlights the set moves that Saints do so its not difficult to predict.
The move we do near the opponents line where Pryce/Long passes it around the back to someone joining the line works if you've got good centres. Talau used to crash in a lot from that move and last year Gidley would put Gardner in or score himself.
Now we do it so often the opposition smother it.
We do seem to lack pace out wide so we dont have the confidence to give the ball width in our own half.
We did it once today and we scored a great try.

| Meli scored a hat trick which showed going wide was causing Huddersfield problems. Unfortunately the majority of the time we tried to go out wide the ball went to ground.
