It worked, it was understandable and it gave the team that finished top a decided advantage for all the "work" they had done in the season.

I still say bin it off all together and have it as a seperate less valued trophy comp just between the top two. Bring back the Stones Bitter Premiership!

I have said as much for years. Teams play all season, finish top and then get K.O'd in a play off. Funny how many folks think that a knockout comp is old hat when its the Challenge Cup, but turn out and cheer for an end of season knockout when its labelled "Grand final"
