The teams were divided into 3 hour segments and were "instructed" to take turns between the trio and try to go as far as they could on the Exercise Bike and Rowing Machine in the 9 hour Marathon.
The Wigan Team managed to go 408 km
While the Saints Team beat them by travelling 427 km
The Captain of the Saints Team Steve Prescott put this win down to better "Teamwork".
The Wigan Team Captained by Steve "Victor" Hampson launched a Stewards Enquiry straight after the result was announced.
Upon Investigation the Stewards found out that the St Helens team had invited there team to go to the St Helens branch of DW earlier than there allotted time and help out on the equipment giving each other more time to recover.
After a serious debate the Result stood as the Stewards acknowledged St Helens initiative and applauded the teamwork shown.
All in Allit was a great day and lots of Fun, the day raised over £500 and more importantly it rraised awareness of the forthcoming Carnegie Challenge and the rebranding of DW Fitness Centres.
