And so, the end of refwatch for another season. The RFL have gone with:
Referee: Greg Dolan (Dewsbury and Batley)
First Oxford game, although we have previously seen Richard Dolan who I suspect is a relation. Greg was a referee a decade ago, but I think must have taken a break. He was back for NCL this season, and now League 1. Last week he did York v London Skolars, withe York manager saying "It's hard refereeing and we've had far worse than that bloke." Is president of Spen Valley Vipers in his spare time. Is touch judge for Wakefield v Catalans on Friday, so will be the only person who looks at Abingdon and thinks its a pretty good ground. This is him in the middle:
Touch Judge: Andy Haigh (Leeds)
Third known Oxford game as a touch judge, the last one being the away game at Keighley last season. The question is whether he was the touch judge closest to the lighning strike or the one who gifted the home team a second-half penalty when the game was still a contest.
Touch Judge: Dylan Ward (Widnes)
Has already visited Tilsley Park as he was a touch judge for the home win against Hemel in June. Started officiating in 2012 and moved up to League 1 touch judging last season.
Reserve Referee: Tom Scott
Has already visited Tilsley Park as he was reserve referee for the home win against Hemel in August. Was due to referee the NCL division 2 game between Blackbrook and Stanley Rangers last week, which was a bit of a shame because Rangers couldn't raise a team.
Match Commissioner: Paul Hewitt (West Yorkshire)
Has already visited Tilsley Park as he was match commissioner for the home win against Hemel in June.
