Referee: John McMullen (Wigan).
Previous Oxford game - 03/07/2016 - Barrow 76 Oxford 12 (penalties 10-5 against, sinbinned James Cryer and Adam Withington)
Obviously impressed last week, because he's back again just 7 days later. Also is a very neutral in-goal judge for Wigan v Wakefield on Friday.
Touch Judge: Nick Woodward (Warrington)
Was a touch judge in our game against All Golds at Cheltenham two years ago.
Touch Judge: Sam Houghton (Wigan)
First known Oxford game.
Reserve Referee: S Rigby
At this very moment is a touch judge in an Under-16 game at Naughton Park, where the referee is our old friend Denton Arnold. I can't find anything else about Rigby, but it is a common surname in St Helens so he or she might be from there. If so, then probably in this photo:
Match Commissioner: Neil Robinson
Was the match commissioner at the away game at Keighley last season. So that means it was he who got involved when the lightning strike happened and the game was almost paused. I've had a look at the duties of match commissioners and thought I would pick out these two:
− Check that the correct match balls properly inflated are present.
So if we have flat balls like in the last home game it's entirely Neil Robinson's fault.
− Make a note of any crowd or spectator disturbances or other unacceptable behaviour by spectators.
