| Currently listening to Frank Turner's new album, Findlay's "Off & On" EP and have just found the new Airborne Toxic Event album streaming online [url=http://music.aol.com/new-releases-full-cds/spinner#/1HERE[/url. Really enjoying the Findlay EP, 4 songs for £1.99 and they're all brilliant. I like the Frank Turner album too, quite a few songs on there that have really impressed me.

Yes, I've listened to it a few times but it hasn't really had that much of an effect on me. It's received a lot of critical acclaim, and sounds very much like MBV. I think I need to give it more time to sink in to make a conclusion - first impression is mostly good though.

| Two albums out on Monday worth a look at
Neon Neon - Praxis Makes Perfect
Deerhunter - Monomania
Shamefully ordered them both on amazon but if I got them from another shop I would be spending over £10 more for them.

| Just ordered the Savages - Silence Yourself. It has had some good reviews but also a lot of hype. Pitchfork gave it a very respectable score of 8.7 which for them is very high indeed.
Influences seem to be Joy Division and Siouxsie.

| The new Deerhunter album is pretty good. I think I marginally prefer it to [iHalcyon Digest[/i, although some of the 'rawk' bits grate on me a tad.
Otherwise very disappointed with the new Yeah Yeah Yeahs album - if not for the odd gem it is easily their first truly bad record - much prefer the Strokes' new one in comparison, even if they aren't really cool anymore. I think the new Knife album is okay but its lack of accessibility could be a problem if you liked their earlier stuff.
Currently enjoying the new James Blake and Vampire Weekend releases - both very much still worthy of the past hype heaped upon them.

| Yeah the new VW album is great. I wasn't so keen on my first listen, but it's grown on me to the point where I love almost every track. I say almost, as Hudson doesn't really do anything for me.
Looking forward to the new Daft Punk album on Monday, and then a couple of weeks later the new Queens of the Stone Age album is out. That is sounding very promising - every new track I have heard so far has been great.

I am the complete opposite I was a massive fan when the first 3 albums came out plus had a lot of love for Kyuss, 50 Million Year Trip (downside up) is in my top 3 songs ever. Sinse Songs for the Deaf come out I feel they have lost their way and become on the whole quite bland. Last night on Jools didn't seem that energetic on stage. Not sure if it was when Nick Oliveri they lost that edge for me. I understand bands change but more "Mexicola" please and a little less "I never came"

Agreed. I wasn't overly keen at first but every time I have listened to it since, it has grown on me more and more to the point where I love almost every track now. The only two I'm still not keen on are Game of Love and Contact. So to come out of a 13 track album loving 11 songs is definitely a success in my book.

| I would fully advocate Mikal Cronin's MCII. On non stop in the car at present, though one thing is annoying me, who he is reminiscent of.

| Is there anyone out there who actually enjoys listening to The Strokes' latest effort?
What a shadow of their former selves they are now! Saw them live for the first time 2 years ago and to say I was disappointed would be an understatement.
Give it up fellas.

I think it is quite enjoyable... Not the white heat of coolness that was their debut, but still it surpassed my expectations. I don't listen to this kind of guitar rock so much these days, but find I have listened to the album quite a bit in recent weeks. To be honest I found the Yeah Yeah Yeahs album a much bigger disappointment - their first bad record IMO.
Quite a few albums out now from 2013 that I like a lot - James Blake, Deerhunter, Vampire Weekend, The National, Boards of Canada, Sally Shapiro. Have just got hold of the latest Kurt Vile, Camera Obscura and Low but not had chance to listen yet.

I quite liked Angles (some of it anyway) but this I find nothing short of garbage. I don't mind YYYs album, tbh I could take them or leave them in general. Agree on VampireWeekend, looking forward to seeing them in a couple of weeks.

| Quote ="oli30045"The new Skint & Demoralised album came out yesterday, had a few listens and really enjoying it. A lot of passion throughout and a great mixture of singing and spoken word.
A weird thing about it on Twitter though, on 11th Feb the lead singer said "Tried releasing a single back in '09. Michael Jackson died. Try announcing a single in 2013. Bloody Pope resigns.", he got a reply on the same day from somebody saying "@MattAbbottSkint I'll have a pound on Maggie Thatcher dying on your album release day
". I think we need to be suspicious about Thatcher's death now!'"

| If old school rockabilly, with strong hints of Johnny Cash and early Elvis about it, you'd do well to pick up the new album from Mars Attacks. I've had it on constant replay for the last couple of days.
