They’re going to win one lose 1/2 until the e season finishes. So you’ll be left hanging as long as possible.
Death by a thousand cuts.

I was actually expecting us to pick some points up today, pick another 2 up next week, and go into the last round needing to beat Cas at home to secure 6th spot. And get beat again by them. That would have been the most 'Leeds' thing to happen.
I don't think it will matter now, and I don't think they'll be a big showing at Hull next week.

It was more the officiating I am upset about. And the fact we have got ourself into this position due to lack of recruiting and squad planning.
Cas was a disaster, but it was start of the season in sub-par conditions. I thought things would change with the better weather.
Wakey, I had a hunch about that. It wasn't much of a suprise. Their losing streak had to come to an end, and we were out of form. I even made a feftw quid at the bookies that day.
But tonight was just awful all round. It isn't just the team I feel disillusioned about, but the sport in general. I was talking to a guy at half time who had brought his friend to their first ever rugby league game. On the way home, I was wondering if I'd bother going to another game if I was in his shoes - an empty stadium, two crap team that are supposed to be top-flight, a referee that appears need an assistance dog, and a set of fans verbally showing discontent with the governing body.
I thought the game was rotten in the mid-90's. It looked ather professional and polished compared to today's sport.

Dead right. Hudds had every member of the first choice spine available, including Pryce on the bench. We had Sezer and O'Connor. Add to that the withdrawals of McDonald and Fusitua (what was it this time?) and one look at the respective teamsheets said we were heading for a heavy loss. I thought we were heading for a beating at 16 points down, but somehow we managed to bumble our way back into contention, as we do most weeks. I could understand the fury when we lost to Cas twice, and even when we managed to lose to Saints away, but this one is understandable. It's obviously a cumulative thing. For those who like a good rant I suspect there will be a few opportunities over the coming weeks. Start of next year will be huge for Rohan and GH.

Fair points re Hudds spine. I think it’s about 50/50 now whether Smith gets a chance at start of next season. I can see another GH presser in October , “The club and Rohan have come to a mutual agreement that it’s in the best interests of all concerned to part ways, we’d like to thank Rohan for all his efforts over the last 18 months. The club will now embark on a worldwide search for the best candidate, blah, blah. If that does happen GH needs to get out of the football side of the club as well. He can’t be allowed to carry on overseeing systemic failure.

Sad thing is I already know exactly how it’s going to go. Pre-season and recruitment will happen, there will be optimism. People will talk about having a squad to have a crack at top 4/5. But then we’ll inexplicably get thrashed at Warrington and any optimism will just immediately evaporate and we’ll be on the back foot straight away, from the first whistle of the season.
Next season will be exactly like this.

Apparently getting rid of crap players puts noses out of joint. Or something. You’d think players would be happy that e is being moved on. But apparently not, according to the smith apologists.

Come on, the last time you mustered any optimism was probably November 2015. You do seem truly lost to the club, and frankly, to the sport.

Pretty much player of the season last 3 years or so but out of form this year for sure.
He needs to get back to the drawing board for the close season and work hard.
I wouldn’t be averse to signing a real good first grade prop and let Lisone, Oledski, Holroyd, Sangare fight it out.

| I keep saying it but there is a decent side in there somewhere.
My first logical tick would be to get better players, because we can all see there just isn’t the required quality in the current squad. We need a few more players who can make things happen; suddenly then we become a real handful.
I do want to see that pack being more dominant, they’ve disappointed me and I think it’s a mixture of pure physicality and aggression we lack still.
Once we have a playing squad we can see should win, there is pressure on the coaching staff more. Jury is still out on RS for me; generally I still have faith in him but he needs to show what a squad of more of his own choices can do.

That much isn’t obvious at all, if there was something rotten they wouldn’t be putting the effort in, which they are but the quality just isn’t there. We aren’t getting hammered we’re competing but just not good enough, there’s no need to manufacture a rotten squad narrative just because you don’t like Rohan Smith

Oledski became a Dad last year, I think. These lads are not in a position to hire nannies or opaires. I bet he's bleeding kn*ckered most of the time, I know I was. Good off season with no England nonsense and I'm sure he'll come again.

| Just getting time to feed back after today's game. Honestly if you didn't attend the game then you will honestly not understand how horrendous the officiating was today and major decisions that ruined the game and mainly are chance of winning today's fixture. I'm not one for bagging officials all the time because the standard of officiating in SL is a complete joke imo we have full time officials who I actually believe don't know the laws of the game or there's new rules they can't keep up with. There was 5/6 decisions that were diabolical and you could have had prime Leeds of the Golden Generation playing today but even they wouldn't have won today's game with the decision that was given against us. However I am a big believer you have to control your own actions & destiny and we we're knowhere near good enough for a team thats trying to jump into a play off spot, but neither are Huddersfield they were just as poor as us but they were handed a 16-0 lead through 2 tries that shouldn't have stood. I feel like we only have hope in Rugby in this country as the governing body does not seem to have the correct mentality and decision makers to make are game more attractive and keep the sport going in the right direction, my only hope is that next year if all games have access to a video referee then we should use it and definitely bring in the captains challenge because we'll see a lot of decision being overturned that officials currently get terribly wrong.
