Nigel Pearson was saying the same the other day in an interview but said nothing can be done until the ownership of the club is sorted out etc. They need this new buyer to get the deal done quick and get some players moved on in January so he can bring his own in. Good manager is Pearson IMO and will turn it around at Hull given chance but they do need to start picking points up quick or he might not make it till January.
Leeds are so dodgy ATM, when you think they'll win they dont and vice versa, dont draw many either. Should really beat them at home though and the same with Bristol City at the weekend, 2 very winable games which would push us right up the table.
I noticed the last 2 games Larry finally had the balls to drop the underperforming Johnson but he still brings him on after an hour and takes Faye off. Usually he never ever makes changes until the last 15 minutes or so but he seems to have changed it for BJ(i wonder if that's what he's getting from him

). He also dropped Collins win the win at Scunny for O'Brien and stuck with Bruce but then after beating them 4-1 he goes and drops Bruce and puts Collins back in. I wonder if Bruce will come back in for Tuesday even though we won as we let 2 goals in with Collins back in the side? But we've been winning so who am i to moan, Larry has his favourites and thats it. Good to see Gradel back in the side aswell, would like to see Somma get more game time as he is our top scorer and looks a real good find but he's OOC in the summer and if he's sat on the bench every week after scoring 7 in 8 then i dont think he'll be too keen to hang around and why would he. Play 2 strikers at home or give Becchio a well earned rest.

Poor result and 2 points dropped. Something has to be done about the amount of goals we are conceding because you cant be conceding goals every game and it's usually more than one. I think Larry is partly to blame for it as he never picks the same team two games running. I know sometimes injury prevents him from doing so but not all the time it doesn't. What's all this swapping Collins and Bruce every game, none have been injured yet Bruce played in the win at Scunny, then got dropped for Collins in the win at Coventry and then Bruce plays tonight with Collins dropping to the bench. To be consistent he needs to be consistent in his team selection and he hasn't stuck with a side all season win, lose or draw.
I'd like to see 2 proper strikers upfront when were at home to sides like Hull who are lower down the table, Becchio works hard for the team but doesn't get enough goals IMO. It's not as though were short of strikers either, Somma and Paynter came off the bench and McCormack scored in a reserve game or something tonight. Main problem though is conceding goals.

We were unfortunate with the own goal though. Was one of those we're if he tried to clear it it another 100 times that wouldn't have happened!

In this instance it's about using your squad to its full advantage depending upon opponents. Shorpe - no big strikers and more of a pacier footballing team hence Bruce. Coventry - 6'4" striker up front, route 1 stuff to him all the time hence Collins to counter the aerial threat. Hull - played 1 lone striker who was about 5'10" and more like Shorpe than Coventry in the way they played hence Bruce again.

TBF Bruce, Collins & O Brien have all done okay in those games.

Great result today, upto 5th now!

It was a very good result and a decent performance as well. Becchio certainly made the difference up front when he came on, up until he was introduced Leeds had plenty of the ball but the final play was poor and we didn't look like scoring. Somma is far better technically than Becchio but doesn't yet have the strength, heart & know how to play as a lone striker that Becchio does.

IMO Becchio will be a bigger loss to the squad than Beckford was if he doesn't sign a new deal and unfortunately I feel that the ambition of the owner will be reflected in the departure of the crowds' favourite.

No doubt the ambition of Bates & Becchio will become apparent over the coming weeks or months.

I've criticised him in the past (haven't we all?) But Jonny Howson is playing some mean football at the moment.

actually i haven't. always liked the kid. he's far better when given the free role to get forward and is in great form at the minute
