| Quote ="Sal Paradise"You seem to be coming at this from the point of view of the club - O'Hara's are there to protect the creditors, so they have every right to go to press. If I were a creditor I would want to know the risk profile of my money.
As you said they are keeping their professional integrity by keeping all stakeholders in the loop?
In all reality would you buy this club now - it has zero chance of getting a franchise, its best players have all departed, they have no ground and the youth/coaching structure looks desimated?'"
O'Hara's have also gone to the press to state that the Millard deal has not yet gone through, would it have been professional to stay silent on that as well?

Looks like the reports that they'd all been given their P45s were a little OTT this morning ....
However, it doesn't say that for the game in Perpignan at the weekend, that the team all set off for Dover by bicycle at 7am this morning and by all accounts, have already reached Newark On Trent !'"
I would imagine the phrase... "not thought to be in any doubt" doesn't exactly fill Wakey fans with confidence for the rest of the season though. Should it be in doubt?! Was there a chance we weren't going?! How long have we got left?!
It's like the phrase... "probably not going to hurt". Then why did you mention then eh?! Eh!?

Why - what possible benefit to the creditors would be gained from that?
Had the deal been done when O'hara's said it hadn't - if so then you could question their integrity/competence - I suspect O'hara's would be telling the truth

I'm sure O'Hara's have been telling the truth throughout, my post was in response to earlier dialogue with Inflatable A who questioned the Administrator's professionalism in their dealings with the media.

On a bike I think I'd perhaps opt for the A17 to King's Lynn and head down the A10. Pretty scenic and would allow you to take in RAF Marham, Mildenhall and Lakenheath (if you fancy a detour) and catch up with some modern military hardware to contrast to the museum pieces.
This epic journey reminds me of a line from 'Another Bloody Sunday' when the visiting Featherstone team got off the coach and walked up to Tattersfield to be met by the Doncaster official asking 'won't your lads be tired.'

I understand that things have been very fractious and heated between Andrew Glover and O'Hara's and they have not got on well at all! It sounds like it is six of one and half a dozen of the other TBH but I still think O'Hara's were a little out of order for saying what they did in the press (not about the player sales). Equally, Glover claims O'Hara's missed meetings with him and did not provide information in a timely fashion and had to be chased over things they had promised to sort. However, the deal is done now so it is water under the bridge, but I get the impression they will not be exchanging Christmas cards!

| Given the traumatic week they've just endured, hearty congratulations are in order for one of RL's foundation clubs on their excellent result away from home at yet another waste-of-space AND waste-of-a-franchise club Catalans Dragons.

| Even after everything that has gone on I find it hard to believe Skybet were offering 7-1 on Wakefield. That is a huge price especially considering the relative performances last week when neither side looked very good.
Only disappointed I didn't put more than a fiver on. Great effort by Wakey though

I thought the value was in backing wakey at 7-1. Les cats look pretty ordinary again. Wil be a long year for them.
Anyway, back down to earth with a bang after crusaders stuffed my 90-1 accumulator on the handicaps by effectively only drawing at London. Gutted!!! Usually only get 4/5 max right so to get so close and lose by effectively a drop Goal in one game is pretty upsetting!

| Likewise, those handicappers are pretty good.
I spent most of last season still believing Les Catalans form at the end of 2009 was about to reappear. It never happened. I weren't even sticking with them at the start of this season because I had any faith in them as such it's just that I had less faith in their opposition for the opening two rounds.
I'll be borrowing one of Ed's blank sheets of paper from now on.

| I always avoid betting on RL using handicaps. They favour the smart bookies too well. Some bets you win... more bets you lose. I lost today... a fiver. Only ever bet for fun though.
Wigan let me down today on a £5 treble. I had Harlequins to win by 1-12, Warrington to win by 1-12 and Wigan to win by 1-12. Would have paid out around £120 but never mind. I'd not anticipated just how dreadful Bradford are and was taken in by a seemingly half-decent performance against Leeds last week, when in truth they were dreadful, just like Leeds were.

I love the fact that even in a post that had very little to do with Leeds you have managed to make disparaging remarks about them. Cue the abuse from the masses!
Back on topic-the handicaps offer better odds than match odds. For example Wigan were massive odds on to beat Bradford bit almost evens to beat them by 8+. harder to predict but far greater rewards

Leeds were dreadful last week against Bradford. You appear to have a problem with any critique of the club and their performances as noted in your responses to nantwichexile and TVOC. Why is that?
Quote ="Andy R"Back on topic-the handicaps offer better odds than match odds. For example Wigan were massive odds on to beat Bradford bit almost evens to beat them by 8+. harder to predict but far greater rewards'"
And 5 way margin options offer even better odds without the imposition of bookies handicaps.
The only point I was making is that I avoid betting on handicaps because they are set by the bookies who ain't stupid. Prefer to make my own choices on bets.
