Sorry I will not change my views on his coaching methods, it is clear that we have a team of very good players, some might say the best in the history of Leeds. A side that under the present coach is can win big games, whether it is down to the coach or maybe the players, I tend to think its the players. But this present team has put out some of the worst performances in the last ten years, Wakefield away, Huddersfield Home, Bradford Home and London away, the sides he put out were clearly not up to the job and there was no plan B.

The Golden generation as the BBC called are coming to the end, I wish they were not and I do not have any faith in Mcdermotts ability to build or develop a new Golden Generation. I do hope I am wrong but I fear not. Remember one swallow does not make a spring.

How on earth can you say that, the performances against poor sides were terrible, the only one I did not go to was London, and there was nothing to defend the Leeds sides in these games. Team and planning all wrong.

You think 4 defeats by 6 points or less were the worst performances in 10 years?
Including the game before the cup final, a game where we had 9/10 players injured and a game against another top 6 team the previous seasons league leaders?

I think I'll stick with my original assessment.

Do you just not listen? After every victory in a 'big game' recently, the players have gone to great pains to point out that they carried out McDermott's gameplan, and he deserves so much of the credit. It didn't even need to be said yesterday, it was blatantly obvious to anyone who watched the game, and it worked to perfection. How anyone can still refuse to give him any credit is absolutely beyond me.

TBF some have damned with faint praise.

Why show your hand early. Save your big performances, and your big game plans for games which lead to silverware.

Oh I for one grasped the "concept" a long time ago: I have and had predicted from the begining of the season Leeds would win the CC even when putting in some dire performances. Anyone with a [uMODICUM[/u of intelligence [ishould[/i have been able to forsee where the efforts would lie this season. As I have also stated many times it is entirely understandable if not something to be condoned.

Basically what you are saying is to hell with the regular league rounds and what do those matches matter!!! The problem is if TOO many cotton on then the regular league attendances and season tickets will then be reflected in this mantra and philosophy. Not a problem for me as I know better....

Could not have put it better my self than the last comments, I am one of the sad people who puts his hard earned cash in the coffers of Leeds to watch them play nearly every game home and away. Its not to much to expect the players give a 100 percent or should I just save it for the big games. But if everybody did that Leeds would be in trouble. If he can draw up a good game plan for the big games why not the other games.

I think most Leeds supporters expect that the players give a 100 percent, I have been and watched Leeds play and get thrashed in the past, but I have stood and cheered the players because they have given 100 percent, I would love Leeds to win everything but thats never going to happen, but what I expect is the the side gives the best every game. Is that wrong

Players are not machines? Tell me honestly do you give 100% ALL THE TIME in everything you do. The honest answer is NO.

Its impossible to do and its what makes truly supporting a team so exciting. McD clearly understands this crucial aspect of sports psychology and adapts his team and game plans accordingly.

You turn up and there is simply no guarantees and sometimes the opposition is just better on the day.

Its the same with people who slag off refs. They are human and therefore will make mistakes.

It all adds to the spectacle of the game. How sterile would it be if no one made any errors and I repeat how arrogant to demand perfection all the time. Its just not real.

I cant believe this argument is going on today. I slagged the team off last week, but im hindsight, who cares? The high of yesterday more than makes up for the low of last Sunday.

Problem some of the 'fans' on here have is that they can't tell the difference between effort and focus when assessing this team. They always shout for it being the former that is the problem when it's the latter which costs us at times.

Should be really interesting to see how we go in 2015 in the regular season without the shadow of the 'Missing Piece' hanging around. Think if this team had won a CC or two previously then we would've been 1st right now with a bit of a gap.
