| This has horrible echoes of the Saints game earlier in the season.
Hopefully Leeds will turn up this time.

| I don't bother looking at the Wigan injury list. Everytime I have seen a Wigan team coached by Wane they are always well drilled and with Wigans academy system the youngsters coming through are usually ready for super league level. I expect it to be competitive, tight and full of controversy.

McDermott actually mentioned the Saints game after the win over Castleford. Talking about how he personally got it wrong with his tactics and was too cautious and didn't try enough expansive stuff to get over for points on the board. He said he feels the balance has been better in the last few weeks and compared both games as they were played in wet conditions so you couldn't overplay it to the backs.
With lessons learnt and dry conditions I don't see a repeat of the Saints game, that's not to say we'll definitely win, but I don't see it following the same pattern. It's the two best defences on show but Magic weekend games often have a habit of being quite high scoring.

Very interesting self analysis and critique by the coach that. Spot on as well, as was obvious watching that game and pointed out by so many on here. Leeds were way too conservative, seemingly by design, and failed to take advantage of their early investment of hard work and grind.
We certainly didn't get the tactics right that night. Hopefully no repeat today.

| BJB in for Briscoe as tipped by a few. No Watkins though, he's gone for Sutcliffe to start at centre which is a better choice than Ward. Still, as Briscoe I don't believe is injured it's shows he doesn't think any of his three wingers can do the job at centre.

| BJB is a complete liability. So glad he's off to Salford. Also do think it's a mistake by BMAC - if Briscoe is fit, he should always start ahead of BJB.
No way was that a penalty against Sutcliffe, Wigan have held down far longer than that and gone unpenalised.

| Not optimistic about the second half. Plenty of posession and terriroty, but 8 points down.
I only see one winner now, posession will even up, wigan will pull away.

| TBF to the Leeds players, they might be shocked because they might've expected to turn up and play 17 men, turns out they're playing 17 apes.

| Rubbish, rubbish, rubbish, rubbish. Leeds circa 2013 have turned up who don't look like scoring unless the Wigan players fall over.

purely attitude in my opinion.leeds expected to show up and stuff wigan here and wanes borderline rough arm tactics in the first half and wigans intensity has been too much for us.
no biggy really.game means nowt on grand scheme of the season but there is a lesson to be learned from it.

good win for you but means little really.
you still had a lot of your key men playing in the spine so lets not pretend otherwise.only o'loughlin as a key man was missing imo.
all that was proved here was that wane is an excellent man manager and motivational coach.

To be fair most of it was all handbags don't think MM was too bad. The only one who might be in trouble for me is Bateman. Not got too much sympathy as bailey didn't run in to assist peacock he just ran for Bateman. The bit that for me was bad was the Bateman gouging for the eyes of bailey. But he does knock around home wood so what do yo exspect

| Leeds were in a completley lose lose situation.
Win, whether easy or close, it was only a weakened wigan team it means nothing.
Lose, and it's the greatest win ever for Wane, players are dancing round and hugging each other like they've won the double all over again, the wigan fans are in raptures.
I would rather get easily beaten by a full strength wigan team than lose to a weakened wigan.
But yes, well done to wigan. The worst injury crisis since the second world war, 50 first teamers out, with OAP's from the local working mens being drafted in.

| can somebody explain to me exactly what McIlorum did dirty in that match? He went to put a big hit on Peacock and he's arm came of the shoulder and hit his head. Hardly sending off offence.

The game was a carbon copy of last years MM. Leeds looking flat and error prone, wigan fresher and more dangerous. Stupid try before halftime proves the difference, leeds have winning try chalked off by the video ref.
We all know how last year turned out.
