| The time to act is now.
I *hope* that GH now accepts this, and is biding his time to find the right replacement. This gives BMD a few games to regain some semblance of pride, before a new name is announced.
Any incremental improvements made in the first few games count for nothing after a loss like that so early in the season, which was as bad as any seen in 2016. Much has been made of our much improved defence - what happened to that?

| On behalf of all rhinos supporters could I welcome St Helens into the fall from high club. I expect Bradford bulls as the founder of this exclusive club ,would also like to extend heartiest congratulations.

Most of our best defenders were sat in the stands, you could name a whole new set of forwards with what was missing
Galloway - Burrow - Garbutt
Ablett - Ward
JJB
+ Ferres

That is a pretty lame excuse - neither Galloway nor Ferres have played this year so have made no contribution to the "So Called" improved defence.
As soon as they came up against a decent attacking side it showed the defence hadn't improved - in fact was that the biggest loss during the SL era?

I know they haven't played, that doesn't mean they aren't a loss to the side.
Would you rather have Mullally and Walters starting or Galloway and Ferres?

But most of our tries were conceeded on the edge where the backs defend, some people holding off and others jamming in, Cas wont score so many easy tries all season.

| Forwards decide who wins the game, and back decide by how much. It's always been the same even though the game itself has changed.

You were commenting on the improved defence and quoted players that had no influence on the so called improvement that's all.
Personally I don't see any improvement as Thursday night showed - just the quality of the opposition gives that illusion.

Quite correct, but it does not excuse the fact most of the team did not seem to be bothered at cas.
Contrast that with Wakefields performance at saints, the Wakefield lads put in a real shift and fully deserved to win. Just going off thread slightly, I think saints will struggle this season. They don't look good at all, it's highly unlikely they will win at hull next week. So the knives will be sharpened for Cunningham ,which is a shame as he has been a stalwart for saints over the years. For it to end on a sour note would be sad.
That's why I don't want sinfield to return to the club at this difficult time.

| I've just finished watching North Queensland Cowboys v Canberra Raiders this morning, what a great match (won't ruin scores for anyone but get it watched if you've got access to Premier), comparing it to the e that was served up on our opening match this season by us and saints, I'm so glad the NRL has started this weekend.
I agree Galloway, Garbutt, Ferres and Ward would have had a huge impact on the game but the reason Mac has to go for me, is the fact his decisions are borderline shocking; picking Handley over Briscoe, not getting the best out of his players, players just giving up.

[iWe're looking good on the defensive front and have clearly spent a lot of time on it, perhaps too much and not enough on attack.
If our attack does start clicking and producing it's going to look like us in 2015[/i.

That was one decision i can understand.
Sadly, I feel that Briscoe has been really under par this season.
It didn't come off this time but the result was hardly Handley's fault.

I think this is in reference to the question I asked. Still awaiting an answer.
I am not trying to get involved in what is clearly ongoing disagreement but genuinely wanted to know where the line was for him regarding the coaching position and how long he should be given.

You are right about briscoe, players can hit poor form but briscoe does not look interested. If he wants away he should ask for a move and go. Watkins also seems to be lacking motivation, maybe they all have had enough of Brian mac.
Perhaps Brian can no longer motivate players. Wane seems to inspire wigans young guns. Unfortunately most of the discussions and arguments about failure seem to end up back at Brian mac. Perhaps Brian it really is time to go.

I did say that, but I would've thought some of the allegedly 'smart' posters on this board would be able to realise that when you end up losing a full set of starting forwards it makes a huge difference to what we'd do defensively.

I don't think mid season sacking is worth it unless you have the guy you're going to go with for the next couple of years comes in straight away.
I see a few guys mentioned as potential replacements who haven't even held a top job in NRL or SL. Any potential new head coach I think should have that experience for THIS particular club at THIS particular time.

| I think they all look bloody disinterested except for Keinhorst, Moon and possibly Lilley. I know what your saying about Briscoe, I just happen to think Handley is average at best (I hope he gets better with age).
People are talking about getting Robinson and Maguire, never gonna come, they've established themselves in Oz as successful coaches. I've mentioned about Cleary in another thread, can't see him coming either. Also mentioned is walker bros at Jets, they run a successful business besides rugby, so offer would have to be significant. Although Toovey at Bradford was a massive surprise so I could be wrong.
Can't we swap with Josh Walters for Toovey

The problem there is that everyone has to get a experience somehow,so it's unfair to turn down a promising individual because they haven't had a big job previously.
With waiting for the end of the season if no big name comes along in GH price bracket you could be looking at wuppings from all the big sides, narrow losses to those in the middle and another relegation fight..two seasons running. How many players will want to re sign contracts ? How attractive will be to the players we badly need to sign?.
Last year can be wrote off due to the many catalogued injuries and unfortunate circumstances, made worse by not replacing the qualities lost with Sinfield .
This year has no excuses, not for pre season, not for being unaware of the deficiencies in the team and certainly not for persisting with bizarre bench use or having no structure ,plan or discernible tactics.

| Quote ="Pants on Fire"Grow up you sound like a five year old - the quote I posted was from you or are you denying that too - in that quote you do what you always do keep all options open - so if Leeds win you go I said "strange things can happen" if Leeds lose "I think Cas will be too strong"? so which is it or is that a lie too? and that post superseded all the other posts so a normal human who take that as an update on your view. Not you!!
'"
The only things i'm denying is that I said we'd be competitive or sneak a win. That's because I never said either and that's why i'm calling you a liar, again.
And no, I didn't keep any options open. I said if the injured/doubtful players made it, we'd win. That's not keeping my options open, that's me predicting that if those players made it we'd win.
Once the squad was announced and it was confirmed that all those players were definitely out I then posted in 2 threads...
Prediction #1
Stranger things have happened [ubut I think[/u Cas will be too fired up tonight and should be too strong.
(i've highlighted 3 words there to help you as you seem to be struggling with this one)
Prediction #2 in the predictions thread, that you never post on for some reason.
CAS 16
which means i'm predicting a Cas win by 16 points.
So that's 2 FIRM predictions. No keeping any options open and no mention of Leeds sneaking any wins.
It's really not that complicated, ask your great great grand kids to explain it if you're struggling but have your afternoon nap first.
Where's your pre-game predictions by the way? And why don't you post on the predictions thread?
