Unless Atkins has had some sort of serious falling-out with Tony Smith ( and if he has then its been kept remarkably quiet) then its hard to imagine why he would leave Wire. The club doesn't need the transfer fee and is not in the mood to be parting with top players to rival clubs.

Achurch is about the standard we can expect: not such a bad thing under the present gloomy economic situation, as long as we have the confidence to promote the promising younger Leeds registered players.

Next season I would like to Keinhorst given an extended run at LC with perhaps Hall tried in the second row to allow Chisholm an opportunity on the LW.
McShane and Hood should be trusted with hooking duties; one as bench interchange. Burrow would be stating SH with the roaming role to jump in at dummy half regularly.... and Olds would be his direct first choice cover. Ward would be starting LF.

McGuire will be transferred to Wakefield along with Kirke, Moore, Hauraki and Peacock. Amor would move the other way and join Singleton, Smith and probably Griffin as first choice props. Lleulai will retire with a nice deserving pay off to help him finance spreading his gospel to anyone (allegedly) daft enough to listen.

Brian McD has said there is room for one more signing. I've heard it will be a back. Don't think Keinhorst will make top twenty but may appear lower down. Signing could be a player who can play centre.

Alot of people are saying we are well below cap with plenty of cap space available. While I imagine we are under cap. (seem to remember reading somewhere that we always leave a little room)

I don't think we will be that far from at full cap. Alot of big name players have left in the last few years but I imagine more of that freed up space has gone into securing our better youngsters and keeping the wolves (probably litterally!) from the door than some appreciate. Ward, Watkins, hardaker, ablett etc

Unless a quality player unexpectedly becomes available at a knock-down price, that'll be your lot.

All good and well but question is, how much cap space?? We simply don't know so for me we can't say one way or the other if there's room for another new signing...

no, but they will be taking up space of 'number of players under the cap', i.e. over 20k we can have. From this year's squad we have: BJB, Watkins, Hardaker, Hall, McGuire, Burrow, Jones-Buchanan, Ablett, Sinfield, Delaney, Bailey, Kirke, Clarkson, Griffin, Moore & Ward definitely taking up space. Plus one of either McShane or Lunt, and Achurch-that's 18 of 20 spots. Amor? That's 19 gone. Then we only need to be retaining one of Peacock, Leuluai & Hauraki for next year, and we're full up.

Further signings will be dependent on players retiring or leaving the club. I think the Hauraki to Cas/Wakey rumours are probably true, and I'm inclined to believe the ones about JP & Kylie's retirement being more imminent than previously thought. If that did happen, then we would obviously need to use the available spot to bring in either a centre (freeing up Ablett into the second row) or another prop, to directly replace JP & Kylie.

You've forgotten Cross and Burgess. I doubt that 2012's signings Moore and Griffin are on significantly more than them.

You've also forgotten the transfers of Jay Pitts and Lee Smith.

In reality, since the beginning of the 2011 season, we've lost high-earners Senior, Buderus and Lauititi from the cap, as well as Pitts and Smith. Next year another top-earner in Brent Webb will be gone. We have so far only signed a young Australian squad-player in replacement.

There would have to have been some pretty eye-popping contract extensions for us not to be significantly under the cap.
