When we were playing well earlier in the year people complained still because he wasn't picking kids and we could be even much better with X, Y and Z from the academy in the team,

More inexperience in the team and the structure, gameplan, shape suffer.....

I'm genuinely unsure how much more he could do at this point, some people on here called for McDermott out three years ago and are now determined to get their way, results regardless.

Playing with half a team, with losses in key positions and lots of players filling in at positions other than their own, going down by 2 points to a fired-up side battling relegation in a game we would have won if any of our three place-kickers was playing.

Same story against Huddersfield, we dragged ourselves over the line against Catalans and Widnes, two tough fixtures.

Compare that to the teams that everyone sucks off on here, the likes of Wigan (shipped 36 against Wakefield to our 14) or Saints (beaten 42-0 by Catalans and 40-10 by HKR).

For how we're set in terms of absentees and players filling in, we aren't doing too badly at all.

Instead of the predictable criticism of Brian for tonight's poor result, or even trying to blame the referee who got most things right, look no further than your own 'Sir' Kevin Sinfield for the loss of a valuable point.

no complaints on the Sinfield issue , thought our coach again came 2nd but as for Thaler sorry can't have him as a decent ref . Brain Farts from Aiton and Danny made decisions fot him but he was summed up at the end when cas dropped at goal and it hit their own player on the back in an offside position and he let play go on .

I am sorry I have said this many time over the tenure of our coach, he is clearly not up to making the changes that Leeds need to move forward. For two years uit has been clear we need a top quality half back, our props are getting old but he does nothing. Please go now

Apart from get Cuthbertson for next year, have Singleton in the team most weeks this year, tried Achurch there at times (although I prefer him to be at 2nd row if I'm honest), hoped to give Yates a shot this year and has given Mulhern 3 games this year with the potential for more?

To my eye I've seen far better attacking structure in the amateur leagues and that seriously is no exaggeration. Our attack is solely passing along a line of 13, hoping for a missed tackle, or end the play with the centre dropping off the winger on the inside, then play individual brilliance off load mayhem. A load of e.

I've been supporting Leeds for 13 years. A season ticket holder for every one of those. Never thought I'd consider not getting one and not supporting my side. But if Heatherington and Co are in bed with McDermott that much, and seriously think that is the best rugby the so called best ever Leeds squad can come up with, then I'm not going to be gullible enough and disrespected into buying into the money making scheme.

You are not far wrong mate. We have had some extremely good players at this club during this successful era, players that can win matches on their own. During McDermotts reign that's what has happened. He has relied on those special players for individual brilliance to get us to our goals. We are not coached as a team, and never have been under his tenure.

I do think he is learning in the role as he goes along, and IMO is improving in areas. However, until we see something on the pitch that shows anything forming tactics, I just do not know what he does with them through the week.

Face it, you have probably been the best side bar none under Brian Mac and you still want more. Give the bloke a break. Yes, your squad are getting older (sadly that comes to us all) but the likes of Peacock, Burrow, even Sinfield are still top drawer (imo). Your kids are coming through really good and the future probably looks better for Leeds than any other SL team due to the excellent management of Hetherington and Caddick.

We know how to defend, close games out and let individuals (Hardaker, Burrow, Watkins) do some individual brilliance (Not team coached) to win the games.

Simple questions for you:

You watch Leeds' displays and think that is the best rugby those names can come up with?
Along the line following the ball stuff. ZERO dummy runners. Joel Moon receiving the ball and either getting bundled into touch or drop Hall off on the inside time and time again, that is really the best we can do?

I was in Ronnies bar yesterday and two Cas fans behind me in the queue were saying " Leeds are nowt special at all". 100% correct and thats embarrassing. And lets face it with the backs we have got we should be blitzing teams off the park, not be hearing that.

90% of Leeds fans must agree that McDermott doesn't get any where near the best out of the squad.

Just pretty much stated the same things in a new thread......before reading this.

I still optimistically believe Leeds will win silverware this season purely on the basis of the riches of individual talent the fully fit squad has......and the paucity of good competition ensuring the team only has to raise its intensity levels on very few occasions. Enough so to have the team still heading the table despite being nowhere near reaching its full potential.

Teams are learning to stick with Leeds. Stick with them, don't get fatigued, keep following the basics and you wont be far off. Teams can spread the 13 out in defence knowing zero threat is coming from the middle. Its sad but its true. If McDermott can coach any sort of attack going down the middle the defence will get sucked then Watkins & Moon might stand a chance.

Just pray that an assistant is employed that has a say in attack.

The problem with Mcdermott is that everyone looks at his GF wins and says 'whats your problem?' While thats understandable its not really want I think a lot of fans are getting at that want him gone, me included.

With the team and squad we have at our disposal we should be at least 50% better than we are if not more. Last night was a prime example. How often did we use the 'slide to the left' move and see Moon and Hall get crushed on the touchline. How did Peacock end up taking a last gasp drop goal to win the game?

Just two examples of the sort of poor coaching and poor planning that are becoming our hallmark.

Dont even get me started on replacing players that are clearly past their prime.

The way we play and the way we have won GF's in the past is being replaced by the type of fast energy, attack in bunches play Cas showed last night.

Evolve or die, and we look like a sickly dog at the moment.
