I'm short a good second row and hooker, but that's nearly a 1-13 of supreme upper lip action. Honourable mention to Neil "Field Marshall" Hague who would surely have gotten into any other 'tache 13.'"
JJB could get an honorable mention at 11 for his exploits the other year.

| About 10.30 in. Watch what Barrie does to his best mate. I'd hate to be one of Barrie's enemies.

The Fleary sin-binning on there is ridiculous.
And Andy Farrell was an ugly buggah even before his face got re-arranged several times wasn't he, its fairly pointless him considering cosmetic surgery now he's retired, they'll ask him to bring in a photo of what he looked like at the start of his rugby career and decide that they wouldn't want their hospital linked to such bad results.

...My memory is poor and I don't remember it too well...despite Stevo's hysterics how was Barrie sent off for that...Even stevo (while saying how terrible it was) says that Barrie hit the chest and his arm bounced up. The handbags then started because poor little victimised Stuart threw the ball away to throw some punches!'"
Interestering to note that Mick Withers pulled TMFMISL away before he dished a few out to Fielden.

The awarding of the Dallas try isn't too clever either.
One of the worst games I've ever seen this one as well.

Senior would be absolutely destoyed by this board if he let in a try like the Betts one nowadays.

Andy Farrell knocks on so Darren Fleary gets 10 in the bin. Seems fair to me.

I may be wrong but wasn't this the season of Chapeltown Road getting uppity about us taking THAT pack to Bradford and picking on their forwards?

It was - the game where Edwards threw the massive paddy at Graham Bradley for not passing to him?

Wasn't that the end of Edward's brief spell at the Bulls? If it wasn't it was certainly the catalyst for the end.

| some cracking links....
Some Lancashire Biff if anyones interested, here's the game that was called world war 3 by Tony Barrow
[urlhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pug17-ZSDrQ&feature=related[/url
to this day I still cant understand Why Wigan prop Shelford was sent off. Shelford Did nothing in that Brawl except get head Butted by our number 10 Tony Humphries and get Held in a head lock by Dessie.
I guess He was just glad of the rest

"This is the unacceptable face of Rugby League. A Warrington player chases the Wigan man from beind and battered him". (No mention of Goodway assualt). Wigan-biased commentary much? Could have been a young Phil Clarke on the mic.
And that must have been the most magic of magic sponges they used on Cullen there.

oops so it is...followed those links then got carried away and went all over you tube watching various fights then returned to this thread on page 3....
like you said worth another shout.
there is a longer version showing 1st half highlights of that game and some of the handling on show was absolute top drawer considering the conditions.

| wasnt it former Wigan Boss Alan Mcinnes.....? (joint Wigan Coach With Phil Clarkes Dad Colin in the early 80's....Say no more)
he definitely did the commentary on the dvd I've got of the Wires v Wigan Maine Road challenge cup Semi in 1989. That was scandalously Biased

His commentary on the 33-28 in 1993(?) is fantastic. Right in Wigan's corner.
'How must Doug Laughton feel? Seeing a great performance by Leeds, and an even better one by Wigan!'
Of course, Jim Fallon (I think) then scored late on to win it for the Loiners. Unless I'm mistaken, the Wigan team then left to go to that London to collect 'Sports Team Of The Year' on Sports Review Of The Year.
I was close to shedding a tear at the end of that game.

| I've still got on video a match between Wigan and Warrington played in Mikwaukee USA. Apparently Hanley and mad Les Boyd had a set-to in the airport and then carried it on in the match along with most of the other players.

Didn't Murphy refer to Australia as "coming from another planet"?
Despite being nearly 30 years ago that Aussie side looks as fit and as fast and more skilful than anything around now.

| This wasn't just a very well coached team, it was a team stacked full of unbelievably talented individuals. In fact I'd go as far as say coaching that team was probably the easiest job in world rugby.
I don't expect to ever see a better team display.
