I heard yesterday off a pretty well placed source its Rohan Smith. Didnt wanna say owt but its on social media now so…….Im expecting Rohan Smith to be announced at some point.

I wonder why he's leaving KR? He seems to be doing a great job there. I'd be gutted if I was a Robins fan.

If it’s Rohan Smith with Tony Smith in some capacity next season I reckon that’s more palatable than just Rohan Smith on his own.

If that’s the case it must be a red herring. We all know how easy it is to drop something like this “from a reliable source”.

The last thing we need is someone who has not been involved in the game in the last 6 years, they will be so out of touch.

With the news about Tony Smith, I wonder if he’s coming in as DoR and GH has realised it’s time for him to step back a bit, which is what he was supposed to do with Kevin.

Id be VERY underwhelmed with Rohan Smith, but Id be VERY happy to be proved wrong.

Pretty sure he’s been coaching the North’s Devils in the Queensland Cup, they’re the broncos feeder team.

Looks like they may have won the grand final in that comp last year too.

I don't know much about him, I was expecting a more senior appointment but I' not going to waste much time debating the rights and wrongs of the appointment, it's pointless, let's see how he goes.

Im loathed to use the old “a source has told me” but its a good source this one, so will see how it pans out.

Don’t think the appointment will capture the imagination of the masses, but ultimately it depends what he achieves with the players.

Okay maybe Rohan Smith may turn out to be coach of the year, or at the very least better than we have in place at the moment.

But goodness Leeds Rhinos have fallen so far if this is the best that they can attract,

My only hope is that Tony Smith is on his way as DOR at the end of the season.

Pretty much agree, lets get him here and get going, it will take at least the next 5-6 games to see real change. Lets see were we are in round 20

Leeds Rhinos have announced the appointment of Rohan Smith, 40, as the club’s new Head Coach on a three and half year contract with immediate effect, that will keep him at Headingley until at least the end of the 2025 Super League season.

Underwhelmed.I wonder what number choice he was for GH?

He did a decent job in very tough circumstances at the Bulls.

In hindsight, we would have been better keeping Smith than appointing Toovey.

Not sure he passes GH criteria of coaching at the highest level - Championship over here and assistant in the NRL.

Speaks very well and he’s a decent bloke, I hope he goes well for you.

If it was me, I would be disappointed not to go for a proven coach with NRL / SL head coach experience but I think he will surprise a few!
