That game though was lost when McGuire stupidly gave that penalty away, we had control at that point.

We were garbage for the most part and went through the motions.got what we deserved.actually, we still got a decent lead at half time and the players must have thought they would capitulate and were like walking corpses for 20 minutes after the break which allowed them to take a lead.you then saw us play properly for a 10 minute spell but when you play with fire you get burnt, like we did at the end.

We were so clueless ball in hand (again) that the 10-minute spell where we "played properly" was like a hallucination. Long time since we've seen that at Headingley. But still we did that kick-to-the-corner thing at 20-18 rather than, you know, trying to score points. Do that and it only takes one mistake to ruin the game.

We deserved nothing from that. Well played Catalans. If it wasn't for Hardaker you'd have won by a lot more.

If playing properly is throwing the ball about and taking risks then you have to earn the right to do it. Structured sets, field position, wearing certain players out etc has to be done first. We saw tonight, as we've done on numerous occasions previously, playing an off-the-cuff player as starting hooker is not conducive to this happening.

Shocking performance overall. Errors, no structure, poor last tackle plays, poor discipline at crucial times, no obvious tactics, mysterious use of the bench. Typical performance when you consider how we've played since May really.

Personally, I think it's time for a new coach, and some fresh attacking ideas because it's evident that we don't have at the moment.

To be fair to Briscoe I can't help but feel sorry for him, he'll be haunted by that for the rest of his career, but that was as bad as Bai's gift to Richard Whiting in the 2005 CC final.

Although we've won the Challenge cup, is has been a bad way to finish. The club needs to look long and hard at the season and at what can be done. Otherwise, I can see a similar thing happening next year. Other teams seem to have Leeds style of play and and how the playmakers work sussed now. Although it may sound strange, I think we need to look forward to the next few years and how we are going to manage without some major players who are nearing the end of their careers.

I don't think McDermott should go like others on here and feel he is the right person for the job as our coach. He admitted we weren't good enough tonight and was clearly very very disappointed.

As for the last two in particular, if McGuire doesn't give away the penalty then Briscoe doesn't get into that situation.....if Briscoe holds on then no one remembers the McGuire penalty.

As for Sinfield should've run it from the PTB, nah. Too close to the sideline meaning the markers would know he's only got one way to go, could've easily got forced back for a drop out.

You can't say that its all McGuire's fault according to Gotcha and G1!!!!!!

Don't see how any blame could be attach to Sinfield there, Briscoe takes it and goes down early to prevent being dragged.

I think in a game lots of things happen - to blame McGuire for what was a simple play between your two favourite players is blindness in my opinion - I would not expect anything else from you - some players are beyond blame? One passed when he didn't need to and one could not catch a simple pass - how you considered that less important than a pass and drop that led to a try is beyond comprehension to anyone who doesn't have an agenda!!

It was a culmination of fekk-ups that cost us the game, Briscoe's was simple the icing on a large sh*t-cake.

Not really now in hindsight. At the time I was delighted Hardaker managed to sneak over to avoid a drop out, now I wish he'd have been tackled in goal. Had Sinfield gone himself and been pushed back and Catalans still managed to score in the final 60 secs then ppl say why the hell didn't he pass?

I think the level of deflection you are showing is pretty obvious to most - don't see a lot of peeps defending your point of view - do you see many to be honest? Gareth yes but to highlight one issue with one player is a touch harsh given that none of your 3 favourite players actually contributed a whole lot in the game!!
