No you're claiming Hetherington's only interest in the club is in feathering his nest. It's as ridiculous as it sounds.

If it were is that such a bad thing - only way GH gets anything out is to make it successful - nobody could ever question GH's work ethic or commitment to the club.

What some miss on here is the size of the business - it is tiny compared to many normal businesses. Yes it might play a big part in many people's lives but as a commercial enterprise it is small.

I think it will be someone with a bit more upside. GH went to Aus mid-season and said himself this is a vital appointment. He knows he needs to turn things round and while he can't do much to add to the squad under the cap he needs to show serious intent. Put another way, if its a low-key British coach he's basically telling fans and sponsors to expect more of the same for the next few years.

Which would probably mean relegation and therefore near empty terraces. I know of many season ticket holders that say they would not renew if we are relegated

I'm sure it's true crowds would fall off significantly but just imagine being someone who makes that something they boast about. Seems bizarre to me.

Judging from the fact that JJB thinks he will be out of the job by Friday, I can only assume Shaun Wane has been appointed. He's UK based, so no issues with visas etc., and has the seniority and experience GH has alluded to.

I think it would be a decent appointment, but I would be a bit underwhelmed... Hoping for a top Aussie coach, because I think we need something new, and I don't think Wane would coach us with the same passion and commitment as Wigan.

Whilst it would be great for the longer term if we got someone from Australia who has coached at the highest level with success, can we wait the 2 months or so it would take for them to arrive? I hope we aren't using the same agency we used to Rhyse Martin's passport for a visa for the new coach...

I know what you are saying Batley, the threat of relegation is real but we should have enough to make 9th and get ahead of wakey, Salford and Toulouse. If not 11th will do.
The problem is we’ve got 3 of them in next 4 games , then 8 hard games in a row, with only at 1 at home.

However, I’d rather get the right one than just someone to keep us up.
