| Pomeroy looks the only centre good enough and realistic on that list.
Wouldnt mind Kite or Manu though.

George Riley says on his blog this week after interviewing senior that we've been scouting for his replacement for months and he expects a "Big Signing" to be announced in the next few weeks.

| A good number of those players above have either re-signed with their clubs or already signed elsewhere now. Don't think Pomeroy has though, who as mentioned would probably be attainable.

| Pommeroy it is then
Tall, rangey(sp) centre with a decent ammount of pace and strength from what I've seen of Cronulla on Premier Sports this season.
I would imagine cheaper and more attainable than Matt Cooper?

| Have you guys seen the exchange rate recently? The minimum wage in NRL is 55k. That was worth 25k in pounds a couple of years ago. On todays exchange its worth 37k. Ok, matters less if you are spending in the local currency but the impression is superleague is becoming less and less an attractive option. Together with a rumoured bumper TV deal and salary cap restructure, GH sleeve would have to have quite large amounts of cash up it for a quality Aussie signing. Investing in youth is strategically the best option

| Youth is the way to go, with the odd sprinkling of experience and quality from overseas. What we do need to have is a structure and coach that will get the most out of the kids, and support them when they inevitably make mistakes.

| Hall, Smith, Watkins, BJB, Hardaker, Coady (plus Elliot, Wilson and Chisolm).
Remind me again why Leeds need another Australian Back? They shouldn't have even re-signed Webb.

| The back wouldn't neccessarily have to be Australian but given the ability and injury records of some of the above a quality addition in the three-quarter line may be required to compete for a play-off spot.

Ah I get you... a young British signing with plenty of potential. Someone like Jodie Broughton perhaps?

| Plenty of good young wingers at Leeds already, just lacking somebody (with a proven record) to supply them.

Because Wilson and Ellito arent going to be good enough imo, Coady either, though he was a punt and its a good thing we took it.
Hall, BJB, Hardaker and Chisolm arent centres, Smith is a part time centre and that leaves us with a still very young Kallum Watkins.
Id be happy to see Delany go though, and have no doubt he will at the end of next year.

I agree with everything there apart from your last line. Delaney imo has a big future with the Rhinos in the back row. He is showing some really good signs already...how much better can he get playing second row whilst learning week in week out?
Like you say Smith is a part time centre and a very average one at best. Apart from his home coming against Bradford and his important winner against Wigan (Which was slack defending) in the CC last year he has been average in all positions tried.
Without a doubt a new centre is needed. Leeds have had too many injuries in the threequarters not to sign one.

Delaney is a decent centre making a good crack at 2nd row. But by the end of next season he will be 27, hardly a youngster and player still trying to make a position his own. Whilst he isnt a bad player, Im not sure he is the quality a team looking to challenge for the title should be having as an import.

The "big signing" that George Riley refers to is to replace Keith Senior. In my opinion Chubb does not come into that category. What about Yeoman at Hull? I think the signing should add quality to the Rhinos and that narrows the field. Pomeroy from the NRL has been mentioned and he's out of contract at the end of the season as well. I think Matt Cooper is wishful thinking. If GH has been scouting for months I hope the signing is worth it!

Could he be due to sign for Widnes?

In the list of out of contract centres in the NRL Ben Pomeroy from Cronulla looked the best and probably most obtainable. Only GH knows who this "big signing" is but I hope it's an improvement on last year!
