| Quote ="jonh"Locky has been a stand out player every time he has played for GB regardless of the opposition, the Kiwi series we won 3-0. Tri Nations down under.
Sinfield is a far more naturally talented player with bags of ability but this does not transfer to the International game, Locky's style does.
The fact that his best International performance to date came when he has filled in at hooker speaks volumes in my opinion.'"
That shows perfectly your lack of knowledge. Sinfield wasnt naturally talented. He worked his bo!!ocks off at different aspects of his game over many years. He was nowhere near as naturally talented as McGuire or even Tomkins, but due to his work ethic and mentality he has steadily improved year on year. When he was thrust into becoming first choice kicker at Leeds he worked his @rse off and became a top goal kicker for example. His numerous conversions from the sideline to win games or save them are perfect examples of his mental toughness.
If England are losing by 2 points in the last minute on saturday and we have a conversion to come, you want Sinfield kicking it.

I'll tell you shall I. This O'Loughlin character that we're told is built for international rugby doesn't appear to be built for rugby at all.
Made his bow off the bench in the 2004 Tri Nations and then 1 full appearance in that tournament.
Didn't feature in the 2005 Tri Nations.
Played twice in the 2006 Tri Nations but missed a game against NZ with a muscle strain.
Couldn't make the 2008 World Cup squad due to injury and likewise wit this years 4 nations.
Hmm. Its' a shame this mental toughness and this build for International Rugby he posesses doesn't translate into actually being able to play the game.,
Like many other fictions continually posted on RLFans that O'Louhgjlin has had some great international career is simply a fallacy.
In fact, his international career is so underwhelmingly forgettable that he doesn't even merit a mention as a GB player on the RFLs web site [urlhttp://fluidab1.memset.net/~englandr/international_stats.php?GBSearch=Sean+O%27Loughlin&EnSearch=Sean+O%5C%5C%5C%27Loughlin&EnOrd=&EnOrdD=&GBOrd=surname&GBOrdD=DESC&GBStartrow=12&submit.x=16&submit.y=17[/url

I love the ignorance on defensive nature or just plain stupidity of people on this board we are crossing old ground. Covered on the last 2 pages.
Firstly I never said Sinfield was the most naturally talented player in the world simply that he was more naturally talented than Locky, to claim any different shows a total lack of knowledge regarding there amateur days. Sinfield in particular was marked as an outstanding natural talent in his Oldham days.
I have also said that the evidence suggests that Locky's body isnot up to the style he plays, i don't see any issue with this, its the truth, as is the fact that when he has played he has never let his country down unlike Sinfield and McGuire. No body has claimed he has a glittering international career.
I don't think you are stupid just totally blinkered because he wears the Leeds colours which makes your opinions and thoughts distorted. Watch without prejudice, thats my advice.
Until this thread progresses rather than covering old ground is there any point in it going in with futile attempts at trying to generate a petty argument.
Enjoy the game tonight i know i will be and I look forward to Sinfield playing a blinder and genuinely hope he does for the sake of our chances, but it would certainly mean an improvement from 13 is needed and will need to be his best performance against the big boys if he is to produce an acceptable/good performance.

| Quote ="Juan Cornetto"Sinfield over the whole game was probably our 2nd best player. He was our second top tackler overall and although he was not outstanding in the first half which other forward was better? Burgess was good but made some mistakes. You admit he played well in the second half which was at loose forward and Hooker and stand off!! In fact his contribution was the single most important in winning the half and it was a shame Smith chose to rest him for a spell.
So why pick on Sinfield before most of the others in the pack?'"
I didn't think I was. He definitely played better when moved to hooker (I can't see a single post that disagrees with this) and he hasn't played anywhere near as well from 13, not just in this game, but in any international. Being the 2nd best of a bad bunch in the first half doesn't change this. This isn't a criticism of Sinfield as a player, but merely pointing out that he hasn't cut it as an international loose so far. If he has a blinder from 13 tonight then I'll be the first to say he's shown that he can do it, but up to now he hasn't. My post was only intended as a response to sgtwilko who suggested he'd "shut everyone up" despite the fact that the vast majority of posts that I have read merely questioned his performances to date as a Loose Forward at International level. In fact I'm sure that most have said that he is a great club performer and, indeed, some had even suggested that his best role at International level, given his size and organizational prowess, would be as hooker. I think that has been shown to have more than a little substance. Not sure why you're so tetchy about it.

Not being techy at all. Just a different pint of view. If the "vast majority of posts that" you "have read" agree with your point of view this does not make it the correct one. Many of these posts have been from people that seem to have a bias against Sinfield. For most of Sinfield's international appearances he was one of the top tacklers and certainly was no worse than the rest. I agree he has never shown his top club form but as a creative ball player you do need the other players to run off you. When they do things happen. Big bashers up the middle are 2 a penny, ball players are few and far between. Too many times Sinfield has just had to drive the ball in which is not his forte.

Completely disagree - Sinfield was one of the most gifted players ever to pass through Leeds academy - his one achilles heel is his lack of real pace
