| Really happy with Sangare if true, Big unit, non Quota, athletic, good offload, dosnt miss many tackles. Replace bodene with a big prop from the NRL and we'r looking somthing like we should for numbers in the prop department.

| I've always liked the look of him. Good experience in the championship and now in SL. Young, but not in the sense that he's not fully grown. Not on the quota so still leaves us room to compliment with one from the NRL. All in all a shrewd option.

| At the bottom of the article it says Leeds had been looking to find someone this year but couldn't find anyone suitable. I actually think that may be a good thing as we've made far too many 'temporary' signings of fairly duff players who we're then stuck with for years. Far better to try to get the right signings for next season and beyond.

| Looks an excellent prospect and good use of available cap. Right age good age and genuine size and should not take up too much cap saoace leaving money over for overseas quota prop

| He's big which I what we need.........plenty of worries around plenty of SL teams that size is lacking in packs especially compared to down under
Excited by this for us but also for the international game that we can help develop a good prop for France

I'd bet money on it. Matt Shaw maybe the Devil to some, but I've never known him get a Leeds "exclusive" wrong.

| Yeah let’s cross our fingers that broadbent and Mellor going early means there’s a prop incoming.

Peter Smith did a piece on him in the YEP today. That's as close as it gets to a club announcement without anything official being said.

| Be great if we can get him in soon.
And letting Broadbent and Mellor go suggests that's possible.
But I'd be surprised if Toulouse let him go early - they've got an albeit slim chance of staying up.

Yeah. Can't see Toulouse getting rid while there is still hope. Mulhern seems to have had his card marked at Wire, so might not be beyond the realms.

| I’d be happy with Mulhern and Sangare as Props 5 & 6.
Mik and Tommy as 2 of the first 4 meaning that we would need for to replace Prior & Tet should they leave.

| Is it realistic to have those two as props 5 & 6?
They may want more regular game time given their respective ages and where they are in development terms.
I like Prior but I wouldn’t be disappointed if he finished up at the end of the year. I would be all in for Taupau if that happened and get him here for a couple of years. He is an upgrade on prior for me, he has more size. That would give us mik and Taupau starting and Tetevano and Holroyd from the bench with sangare and mullhurn if we could get them.
That is a nice prop rotation for me and allows you to go big if required, putting Zane at 13 or loading up with three props on the bench.
We will likely try and retain Martin but I would say an area to improve is getting a bigger and more destructive back rower from the NRL. I don’t think Martin suits what we need from that position given we have Smith at 13.

| Tapau would be an awful signing. He is not a naturally big guy - he generates power through aggression. If you watch Manly games you'd see his form has really fallen off a cliff in the past couple of years. We certainly wouldn't be getting the star player he was a few years ago but we'd be paying through the nose. I'd far rather we get another Ava.
While likely much cheaper is Mulhern really worth a shot? Again looking at him he's just not that big. Looked completely ineffective for Wire against us recently.
I would have thought that with the props we do have we lack size pure and simple. More 'middle-esque' forwards will leave us exposed again to teams with bigger forwards.

| I can't see Mulhern or Sangare wanting to be 6th choice prop. They'd both want to be 4th choice prop at worst!

Agreed, if you can rest Oledzki / Prior once every 4-5 weeks, it would definitely benefit them.

| A 6 prop rotation is a must for a team that wants to press for regular honours. I don't expect that they are all world beaters, but you need big consistent bodies who can each play in 20 minute spells or perhaps longer. You can't have too much drop off from your starters to the 5 & 6. We don't need 6 Alex Walmsleys, we do need at least 3 more (2 if Sangare comes) who are better than what we have outside Mik.
A rotation of Oledzki, Holroyd, New Prop, New Prop, Sangare, Mulhern, all by the end of next season latest would be fine. If we could shed Prior or Tet at the end of this year it means that we can accelerate the plan to bring in new props.
This must be addressed appropriately before we look to strengthen in any other position.
