| I’m glad at least not all on this site are anti Mom. Watching the game back on tv that first half was poor and I struggled to really give anyone credit. Things turned around in the 2nd half and there were positive performances from several . Ash seems to have developed a good combination on the left hand side with Mom, hopefully once Mom has settled in and got used to our summer rugby the combo will be really good.

Decent defensively, but overall poor so far, emphasis on so far, which is what my original post stated...Unless you think him missing a good chunk of pre season, including all friendlys, his performances so far on the field and being injured 4 games into the season, represents a good start to his Leeds stint?
If so then people really are easily pleased'"
So if he’s been decent defensively why does that mean he’s overall poor tho?
It’s disappointing he’s picked up an injury, I wouldn’t say he’s been poor, I wouldn’t say he’s been great, like quite a few other players.

Third? try vs Leigh. All shot in, cut out pass to the winger.

| I find Rohanball a very hard watch and think These next 2 games v Saints are the acid test.
I reckon you would struggle to put a better or equal pack together from the other 11 sides combined.
I’d be happy if we could win 1 of the 2 and preferably the cup match.
hope it’s good weather and we start well.
On momo, I watched him a bit last week and thought we was struggling, it’s early days but he’s looked sluggish so far on and off the ball. It’s a long year so Hopefully he will get better as we go on.

| Lees and Batchelor could be back for Saints Friday which adds to their strength in the pack.
The plus side is they may be under cooked.

Acid test for what? The team's progress, or Rohan's suitability as coach? What happened to waiting for 10-12 games?
We beat the likes of Saints, Catalans and Wigan last season. From this perspective, winning one against Saints now in isolation doesn't necessarily mean much at all. Consistency in our win-loss record over a longer run of games, and not putting in many below par performances leading to capitulation against the likes of Cas and London would be more meaningful. Also keeping down the points conceded per game, and relying less on 'lady luck' in close games every week would also be positive signs for me. I'd also like to see us look more threatening in the opposition 20 instead of relying on skill shift plays on the last tackle when we're 40m or so out... Lots to work on, but to be expected after 4 games in.

From our outside backs who've all played the same games or 1 less in Millers case:
Last in clean breaks with 0
Last in tackle busts with 2
Joint top in errors with 5
0 trys scored
1 assist
Thats why i think he's been poor so far
Not saying he wont improve or that he isnt a good player
But, that output, combined with missing important chunks of preseason, and being injured after 4 games, leads me back to my original post "Not a great start to his Leeds stint"
He would most likely agree with that statement himself

There’s no getting away from it, he’s had an underwhelming start to say the least. If he can improve on his first four games, all well and good. If he can’t , it will be very disappointing. A lot of people seem to reference his reputation and “credentials”. Unfortunately they count for nothing until he ups his game in a Leeds shirt.

| It’s just too early to tell. He has partnered with Handley very well, but hasn’t had a stellar start. Genuinely think he’ll improve with game time and better weather conditions.

| It will be interesting to see how close we are to their intensity and fitness levels tomorrow. I think Saints dominance in recent years has had a lot to do with those two attributes. There were theories that our defenders just “absorbing” tackles was being coached as a passive type of defence. I’m not sure we had comparable physical specimens to compete with some other teams over the last 5 or 6 years to be honest, and maybe defending on the back foot was the best they could do. Likewise, our forwards carrying the ball from 3 or 4 yards behind the passer was maybe an indication of a less fit team than some others who hit a flat/slightly forward pass at speed. There’s no doubt there’s a number of ways combined to win a game, but in our sport the fittest and strongest will always stand a much better chance.

| Well I still think 2024 Leeds are a better side than last year, and on that basis alone we should be able to compete.
Looking dry now up until kick off; tomorrow will be chilly again though.

| Not confident about this.
I don't see saints being drawn into playing someone else's game two weeks on the bounce. They go back to basics, take metres by going hard and direct, every play and kick chosen by percentages and slow down our ptb. 80 mins of that might see them home by four or five tries to two.

| Croft is carrying an injury main reason why Rohan is carrying Edgell on bench, Ruan isn't injured very unfortunate to miss out imo. Would make more sense if Sinfield was on bench if there's a injury cloud over Croft

| Ok so Edgell will cover FB if Miller moves to half in place of Brodie I’d think.
Brave selection that is a very light bench other than Holroyd.
