If he turned up for training half cut .Well they are now full time what time does training start 9 or 10 am ? The drinking culture at clubs years ago when the game was part time and training twice a week in early evening

Weren't previous problems reported as being partly down to "hanging out with his mates". If so, moving home to Yorkshire may actually lead him into more trouble.
After he let himself and others down in the past, re-signing a player of his reputation would seem to indicate "loyalty" brand that the club ha previously marketed itself on, can now be seen as another thing of the past.

Cas didn’t either because he did the crime and served time.
Even Wigan are still being very complimentary about him, they could have been slit harsher.
It’s not as if he can’t just walk into nearly any other club in SL either if they have cap space….he’s that good…

I agree we’re desperate for quality, get him signed. You calm him down by giving him by giving him ownership and responsibility, Make him Captain and let him have the responsibility, it will make him a better person and player.

If after 10 years at different clubs and 30 years old he will not change,certainly not in the short term ,if ever.
What will the young players think, you can be a a complete prat and can still be welcomed back.
What a great message to give to the younger players and example to set.

I'm afraid that clichés are clichés because they are true. A leopard can't change its spots. It can hide them for a while but not change them.

So for me only a short term contract please.

I think k realistically we’d have to offer a 2-3 yr deal on very good money if we want him. We are desperate remember, and he has other options, look at his injury record too. Doesn’t miss many…..
BUT
Any contract would have to have a clause that if he messed up, club can nullify contract.
May not be a good option for us after all, especially if most fans don’t seem to want him back……
