We have got to find ways to isolate the outbreaks so the rest of society can function in something approaching normality. Whilst the economy is at risk, the education of our kids and the mental health of the community are also high priorities for me. That means we must find ways to get people back together again in both work and social circumstances.

Lots of efficient testing and tracing is the only way.

What will be interesting, if we are ever allowed back in again, is how many & who. How are they going to pick 3/4/5k from 9k season ticket holders?

Once the rise in cases translates into pressure on the NHS and you factor in the usual winter pressures and seasonal flu I can see the government having to make some very difficult and unpopular decisions by Christmas.

It looks like we will be lucky to be allowed into the ground this season to watch the rugby. the latest changes to the rules suggests not. If they cancelled the trail at Doncaster races due to coronavirus, and the crowd was spread around the course. How would anyone come up with a system that would let a certain number of fans into the ground even if they were allowed to do so. Where do you start, someone mentioned we have 9,000 season tickets, I suggest if you include the corporate entertainment and the season tickets they buy the number is higher. numerous clients have tables of ten, including food at £200 per person per game £2k per match. where are they going to put them. Can you see any GH wanting to refund them for the 10 outstanding games £20k. There is a lot of money that is held by Rhinos that rightly is not theirs. There are some tough decisions that are going to be made going forward, question is, are the RFL good enough to get us all through this pandemic.

Have to say that a personal decision to back the club with £300 of your own money on a season ticket you don’t want a refund for us very different to a business agreeing to leave thousands in when it will be struggling to avoid redundancies in the coming weeks...

This season is done for me as a spectacle.
I won't be investing much time or money as a fan till next year now. Won't be a disaster for the game if we have to go back to semi-pro set up, and concentrate on the sport a bit more, not the business.......

Most commercial arrangements with be contractual with obligations on both sides - failure to meet those obligations make the contract null and void. You may have booked a table of 10 for the Wigan game but if the club cannot provide with a table of 10 for the Wigan game your obligation disappears. This will be the bit that hurts Leeds the most - season tickets are subsidised by the corporate entertaining/sponsorship monies

Agreed, it's not hard to see where there is no "product" to sell, but I suppose a lot will be dependent on what payment terms there were, 100% up front for example and then its like getting money back from BA...

Leeds have to take a long term view - losing corporate clients, especially as Leeds Utd are in the PL doesn't seem good business to me

I assume they will use the Ryanair model, we''ll arrange corporate and keep your money within the covid restrictions, it's up to you and your clients whether you come to the game or not and put yourselves at risk. Corporates won't put staff /clients at risk for fear of claims.

I booked with Jet2 - it was cancelled I got my money back in 3 days - I also booked with Ryanair - still waiting - guess which airline will get my business in the future?

If crowds are not allowed in then the club have no option but to return the monies - if the client doesn't turn up that's a different matter then the club has every right to keep the cash.

Sponsorship is a tough one - client is expecting a certain amount of exposure that they cannot get as no attendance or not TV coverage - that's a negotiation?

Gaelic football /hurling. Both "amateur" sports, deals with Irish TV companies and SKY.

Yes but Rugby Union (Leinster - 3 years pro 14 winners and champions cup powerhouses) and football both have good participation.

SKY deemed that a sport in countries (North & South) with population of 5m was worth challenging the mainstream TV stations to get involved.
