| Personally I'd be happy with JJB for the short term. Let Watkins, ward, cuthbo and others concentrate on playing. For next year we have 2 raw fullbacks, a new half back combo, a new bench hooker. So middle of park is as inexperienced as you can get for a group in key positions. Having said that I'm sure club will make the right choice.

| One key point worth considering imo is who is likely to make the matchday 13 on a regular basis.
For me the pecking order there would be Watkins, Ward then Jonesy.
This might not be a popular choice but Myler could do the job despite him not being here two minutes.

I agree, seems a natural leader and is one off our main play dictators.
Also think Sutcliffe could be a potential captain in a few years.

I think this might have some influence on the choice. Through Sinfield's captaincy there was a point Peacock would be captain on the odd occasion when Sinfield was missing. However I think it was around 2013/14 it switched to McGuire instead of Peacock. Guessing that's because Peacock would sometimes be off the pitch as a forward, although granted he hardly spent prolonged spells interchanged. Likewise Ward or JJB or Cuthbertson whilst spending big minutes on the pitch do get interchanged now and again and it might just be the preference to have an 80 min player as your named captain.
Like some have mentioned before, whoever is captain the key thing is having a leadership GROUP.

| Any thoughts on Ryan Hall as captain?
He will certainly be on the pitch longer than most barring injury of course.

| one aspect might be how watkins and ward handle the stress of being captain, it might be better letting them both have another year recovering from off field issues before taking over
on the other hand the captaincy might be the making of either of them

| Tough call for the coach but whoever he chooses I`m sure the fans will see the positives in his choice.
You could make a case for more than half the team who might get the nod.

Can't see it at all. You need someone to lead by example & be influential. Wingers are in the least useful position to do that. I am struggling to think of a team with a winger as captain. Ward for me if he can stay fit.

Clive Sullivan/GB/Wales/HKR?
I struggle to see Hall in the role though, not by example or organisationally (too uninvolved) and not through motivation (too laid back).
Watkins might be a good shout, I never thought he'd make a kicker but he stepped up to that mark ok.
I'd include Singleton in the leadership group, if he's not already been mentioned. He might just turn out to be the player Ryan Bailey should have.

| Watched the Rhinos tv GF special and Sutcliffe was talking about the Hull SF. When he scored late on and celebrating along with other players , Hall grabs him and tells him to focus and there's still 15 mins to go and you can actually see that if you watch the try back. Quite a good bit of leadership from Hall I thought and he should be part of a leadership group.......however he was asked on some twitter Q & A if he'd like to be captain at one point and he said definitely NOT. So I'd rule out him or anybody else that's reluctant to do the job.

Got to say, I feel a bit like this. Kallum seems a really nice guy, and is very likeable and if he is captain I wouldn’t have any problem with it. But i just can’t see him giving an inspirational speech or challenging a team mate if they weren’t pulling their weight. Whereas Stevie ward could see doing just that. Also Stevie would be in the thick of the action a lot more. He could lead by getting his hands on the ball. It’s harder to do that at centre

| As it says Kallum is the captain on the official site I assume that is a good indicator as to where the club's preferences lie?

The summary box in Google takes a feed from Wikipedia, where Watkins has been listed as captain for a couple of weeks. It has no official status whatsoever.
