Surely it depends on how the rest of the season pans out?
Our defence - Cas apart - looks better than last year & the attack is at last showing more variety.
McGuire I think will hang up his boots, probably JJB too.
What will be critical is what happens to Parcell, will his trip back home at the end of the season produce a Segayaro outcome?
Currently there are other SL coaches whose future is less secure than McDermott's.

Whatever your opinion (and i too thought it was time to go after the cas game), you cant deny that the players clearly wanted to play for the coach and eachother in the last couple of weeks.

Thing is, I like and respect Brian. But he just gives me to many head scratching moments. I'd like him to leave with dignity at the end of the season, maybe go on to become the England coach or something.

Rick Stone must be on thin ice too.defeat this weekend and against us next week and he must on the brink.I agree re- Cunningham, looks in serious trouble and Catalans away today followed by an equally desperate Warrington next weekend are certainly not the 2 games you would hand pick to ease the pressure. Tony Smith is a strange one, i'm sure he will turn it around sooner or later but its already looking like SL chances are over for this year and like McDermott he has been in charge there for many years depends if those at the top feel now is the time to shake things up as to whether he goes or not.

As for McDermott, he will be thankful we got 2 home games after that humiliation at Cas against sides who were not really a threat, that said the attitude of the players in the games shows he has not lost the dressing room. He has at least bought himself another couple of months barring another Cas like showing in coming weeks.

It's funny how after the Castleford game quite a few were saying they couldn't see us winning any of the next 4 games, but now those first two were easy predictable wins.

I personally expected more form Catalans after they had an undefeated start but should really have known better going off their usual sub standard away performances, you can't even argue that they were anything more than poor last week. As for Wakey, that game at home is as generally as easy as you want to make it. I did think the next three of Hudds, Warrington and Wigan were the real tests so we will see after them.Like i say, it's clear the players are playing for the coach off the last 2 games i don't think you can take a whole heap more from them though TBH as to where we are seriously at.

I agree but it strikes me as odd at the same time.

Where has this level of performance been for the last 14 months? Did it really take GH threatening the sack for the players to stand up? If so, what does that say about the players?

Don't get me wrong i pleased we seem to have woken from our slumber but i cant help but feel it is just papering over the cracks.

We need to seriously buck our ideas up with regard to transfers, academy progression and off field coaching as we have fallen behind on all of them.

Nothing that cant be fixed, but one that is going to need some quite painful decisions to be followed through.

Skip back to the many threads started after the Castleford defeat and you'll see, even the prediction competition for the other week had a lot more people tipping a Catalans win rather than Leeds.

That's not the same as saying people were suggesting Leeds would lose the next 4 fixtures 2 of which were against 2 of the weakest sides in SL.

Leeds have only played 2 serious sides - they have had a very soft start to the season - and they have lost them both the next test will be Wigan - lets hope it is better than the game at the Jungle

Like I said look back at all the post mortem threads after the Castleford game, already pointed out more people tipped us to lose the Catalans game.

Can call our games easy but we beat Salford who have beaten Castleford today and people can go on about Catalans away form but their previous away game before us they actually beat Hull away, one of the teams we have to test ourselves against apparently.

Anyway, Huddersfield away next. Considering they picked up a great point today at Wigan and always seem to be up for us at home in the regular rounds should be a bit more of a guide to where we are at the minute. I can't see there being more than a score in it either way.
