Decent lad shame about the agent.

Alan who is I believe a Leigh has hit the nail on the head, Brierley just isn't a SL halfback, he doesn't play at the line & shoots out in defence causing his edge players massive problems.

In the middle's he was hugely found out as Ridyard was one of a string of Leigh players needing ops & he couldn't step upto the plate.

He is always surrounded by drama and it appears he has proved what most Leigh fans were suspecting which was he & his agent are leaking his own info to extra money.

He has ultimately made himself look very stupid & selfish with his lies and clubs will now need to way up the drama that goes with him.

Don't get me wrong about Ryan - I think he deserves a crack at SL, from his achievements to date, in the Championship. I just don't think it will work for him at half back. That said, he has listened, learned and progressed a lot at Leigh, and Leeds do have an excellent record of developing young players - albeit maybe younger than Ryan is now.

As for the current goings on, I'm surprised that/if Ryan is 'behaving badly'. I always found him a great young man, who would often go the extra mile for supporters, kids and disadvantaged people, often at his own expense. It could be that his agent is pulling the strings, or that Ryan is believing his own publicity. One thing's for sure - he's been publicly linked with over half the teams in SL, these past two years, and seems to get even more publicity than the top SL stars!

Let me put you all out of your misery. Everything with Ryan and Leeds was agreed last week. That i know for a fact. The outcome however, contract signings, loan deals etc i do not now.

his current style of plays seems to be a mirror of how McGuire was when he started in the first team. we now appear to be lost on the field without him so maybe Ryan can develop into a playmaker like McGuire has?

The appearance on tv by Brierley was stage managed, that's fact.

There's a lot gone on in this saga and IF it all comes to light will not enhance many peoples reputations.

I would be pretty disappointed if GH has gone all secret and under cover for so long over a unproven player playing in the Championship. A lot been said, and a lot of 'in the knows' spouting all sorts you don't know what to believe, so we will see.All will come to light soon i suppose.

It is all very amusing how this is getting played out.
Now GH`s name has been brought into it as some underhand deviant who has been behind it all .
Frostie has maintained all along Brierley had a deal done and dusted and knowing some of the scoops Frostie has had in the past I have no reason to think he has been lying.
Not sure why Brierley would make this up as he would soon be found out in what he was saying was tosh. FWIW I think he will be a useful addition to our squad but worry we will have too many lightweights should we persist with Burrow, Lilley and possibly Brierley.
Who we have at 6,7,9 and 14 when all are fit will be interesting considering Falloon will take the 9 presumably.

If he's signed for us for 2017, when his Leigh contract ends, why would Hetherington be trying to get him to leave and cause all this fuss? Just wait til his contract ends.

Cos he wants a bit of dosh or needs it? Impo he is being used as a pawn in a media game, he could have said nowt kept his head down and gone wherever in November but we have had 2 years of this probably since he changed agents and started to believe his own hype.
He is not a SL half back, he will not take the hits often putting his team mates in trouble, but remove any defensive duties and give him a gap and he is as good as any.
The club have bent over backwards for him since he arrived, employed Ft in the community when we were pt to help him out, contracts upgraded mid term as he developed etc
Personally I would get rid now with a clause that he can't be loaned in 2016, if you had Peacock as bodyguard he may have stood a better chance at half back for you to see if he would toughen up

Eh? Why would Hetherington go to all this fuss and trouble just to get Brierley for half a season when we already have McGuire, Burrow, Sutcliffe & Lilley? It makes no sense.

Brierley obviously wants out for some reason, obviously related to whatever caused Rowley to leave. Unless Brierley somehow convinced Rowley to leave simply so that Brierley could move to another club for half a season, then it's not all about money.

As for the stuff about "looking after" Brierley. That's just rubbish. Employing a player full time isn't "looking after him". It's employing him. The club is paying him for his services. The same goes for upgrading his contract. That's what happens when you have a good player at your club.
Leeds didn't upgrade Hardaker & Watkins contracts to "look after" them. They did it to ensure they stayed at Leeds.

I think this statement says more about you than Wigan fans. There are going to be idiots who support any club, but to brand all (except one) as that is just childish and stupid.
It's just a sport, you need to grow up.

Speaking only for myself, I welcome the contributions of Wigan or any other fans on here, trolling expeditions excepted. Every club has it's quota of poop stirring, bite seeking knobs. Anyone who wants to contribute in a positive way to the wider debate should be welcomed.

There have been so many "done deals" claimed regarding Brierley and Leeds which have all proven to be in fact to be wrong that anything is now possible. First it was a "done deal" that he would sign for Leeds if Leigh did not get promoted and when this didn't happen the goal posts moved a bit one way then the other. I lost interest when "the horses mouth" claimed Leeds had signed him last year yet loaned him back to Leigh until 2017 with presumably a post dated cheque to avoid the salary cap?

If this is still the current claim? If the latest leaks from the Brierley camp are to work would it mean a re-loan deal from Leigh or that Leeds will loan him back to ourselves now?

I think there is a little pack of posters who will scrape the bottom any barrel for excuses. But have now moved from their little boyband branding of knownothings to the affectionately named Frostiesbitches. The uncalled for posts at him for just giving information I am sure won't be forgotten, regardless of what transpires, and that is regardless of where Brierley ends up.

Nothing wrong with him giving stories he's heard......I just didn't realise we were duty bound to believe them or not question them even when the original story (we'd get him if Leigh didn't get promoted) was one of the most obviously unrealistic rumours I've ever heard on hear yet he kept insisting me and others who doubted him were definitely wrong and then has continually failed to answer the question of why did the original deal change.

Unlike what has been claimed, no one has called him liar. No one has said he's made it up. Just highlighting how some people shouldn't believe every story they hear because then you end up with silly claims like Westerman signing to give Clark lifts over to Warrington and they usually then try and blame the club for their story not happening rather than accept it wasn't true to begin with and that their source could ever possibly be wrong.

Yeah I really wish I was in the loop that claimed Clark needed lifts over to Warrington when in reality he already lives over there, or the now annual "Clark is signing for Leeds next season", or Clarkson is signing for Cas next season and when he moves to Widnes on loan try and claim that proves I was right, or Ferres preferred option was Wigan because he wanted distance when in reality he wanted to be as close as possible and Leeds were always his preferred choice. Never mind Falloon making his debut, I'm still waiting for Danny Haughton to make his debut after he signed last year
