I always go to the 'Fat Friends' chippy at the top of Butcher Hill.

Might give the Station Road place a go next time.

Midgelys on butcher hill is good as is station road.
In pudsey the one on owlcoates is awesome with big big portions, and the fish is brilliant on Waterloo road

And for restaurants booked my favourite restaurant for Thursday night, the olive tree

I highly recommend Piazza by Anthony inside the corn exchange. On Monday four of us had a Guinea Pig meal where you got anything put on your place over three courses. We got it for £15 each from livingsocial.com/Leeds

The Corn Exchange is a stupid building.

Corn Exchange as a venue is lovely on a night when only the ground floor is open and it's best to stare up into the glass ceiling with it's wonderful lights. However during the day it's probably bedlam to eat there with everyone leaning on the balcony railings and rushing about on the upper floors.

Another place I've been to recently is Cattle Grid which is just across the street from the Corn Exchange. Great Burgers.

Reds True Barbeque just opposite the Corn Ex - been there twice in the past week.

First for my birthday, so I told my daughter how good it was so she wanted to go for her birthday too. Who am I to say no??

So I hear! I've only been as far as the door where they told me it would be a 3 hour wait...

Sounds wrong doesn't it but I saw plenty of them coming out of the kitchen when we went.

I waited an hour to get in last week but 3 hours...!!! That's too long.

It's very popular we waited appox 30minutes, 3hrs is a tad too long for me to wait

I've been at lunchtime a few times and the food is great. It speaks volumes about how well they're doing that they don't take bookings and you can have a wait of hours for a table.

However, they're on my list now. 9 of us went last Friday at 5.30. They wouldn't take a booking and we figured we'd stick our name down and go for a drink for an hour or so. I was told no chance till 9pm so left my number. We decided to eat elsewhere and I got a call at 8,30 telling me how lucky I was they had gotten me a table half an hour earlier than promised.I politely thanked him but said we had already eaten and he got a bit y. I pointed out that they didn't take reservations for their convenience not mine, I couldn't wait 3 and a half hours for food and he could stick it up his arris.

A couple of weekends ago we went to Reds for Sunday dinner (at about 5), we were told that the wait would be 2/3 hours so we went to the new burger place in the Trinty development.
I had probably the best burger I've ever had in the uk, it was the Jimmy's farm burger & was really tasty.
Because desserts are limited we went to Carluccios for afters.
I had their excellent & excellent value pannacotta followed by their coffee which is some of the best you'll get in Leeds.
A top night out.
I'm sure we'll try Reds again but the wait is not acceptable.
Not to me anyway.

Reds - significantly overrated, the masses sucked in like moths to the light.

Prashad in Bradford is very good if you fancy a great meal.
