The NRL is no different - they brought in 2 refs to speed the game up and get away from tedious wrestling at every tackle - it is no surprise the most important players in the NRL are now the hookers such as Smith and Farah - the change in interpretation of the rules has allowed them much more space and time to run at broken defensive lines.

I doubt you find many who will not say the NRL is now significantly more entertaining than it was for the 3 years of turgid wrestle - improvement in attendances would seen to suggest which style the fans prefer

I though McDermott was going to sort our discipline out. We were as bad if not worse than we were under Bluey. Thats what nearly lost us the game.

Luckily the bulls dropping off, and us testing our arm and it coming off won us the game. There are still some cracks to fill in though.

Overall, with 6 first teamers missing, and such a poor show I am content with the points

Great advert for our game, so much better than the kick and push stuff on the Beeb. Thought over the co of the game the decisions evened themselves up. As a bulls fan disappointed but always felt as Leeds could and would score. Game shows hopefully bulls on the come back trail which can only be good for the competition. Looking forward with a bit more optimism this season !!

I can't comment on the Delaney incident as they did not show a reply, I did however think it was for a professional foul. I didn't see Ah Van give away many penalities, I think Sibbit was the only one pushing his luck.

As for the penalty try your player kicked the ball forward and in field, at the same time he was tackled by Raynor. I am not as confident as you that he would have scored.

The NRL is very different. It's more intense, the defences are more structured and there's far more class, skill and competition on show.



Improvement in attendances in the NRL since 2006 have shown a steady increase for a number of seasons... which has absolutely nothing to do with the introduction of two referees in 2009. Though it'd interesting to note that the highest average attendance was in 2005... a season which you'll regard as a season of turgid wrestle.

On a serious note I think Bradford were the better side for mostof the gameand the main positive was our determnation.
While drinking in the pub with my bulls mate at the final whistle I told him I didn't think we deserved to win. He also said that Bradford didn't deserve to win giving away 18 point lead.
The penalty try was clearly a try. I enjoyed listening to Paul Cullen trying to say it shouldn't be given as a bulls player (who was never gonna get to the ball) was in the shot and should be disallowed.

On separate note if it was deemed penalty try shouldn't raynor have had 10mins for professional foul

I think if you give a penalty try you can't go in the bin. As I said on another thread the differences/similarities between that incident, and the one that landed Delaney in the bin are interesting

ATEOTD if you don't play for 80 mins you can't complain if you lose. Ganson was poor for both teams but got that one decision spot on. He didn't miss any tackles or knock on all day....

How about Whitehead completely milking the penalty for interference, he should be up for an oscar.
