If fit, of course he will play and start.
Need the tried and tested.
The experience of the big time is vital.
Ambler hasn't played in a long time for Leeds, can't see it happening tomorrow if WDILSAT (When Did I Last Score A Try) is playing.
We will need every 17's A game.'"
Assuming he is fit I would agree that Bluey will pick Bailey and I take your point about experience. I said I would "consider" playing Ambler because we need to be on the front foot, but said it as a point for discussion

| Quote ="thebloodbath"On the whole WDILSAT (When Did I Last Score A Try) secures the ball well and doesn't lose his cool in ref to giving penalties away. He will wind the opposition up as usual.
Please cue his Kansas City Shuffle.
'"
I don't think we need anyone to wind up Wigan, the atmosphere between the two sides since the last game and the McGuire episode will be electric and will have the ref looking to penalise and Sin Bin any of the usual suspects. We cannot afford to be down to 12 men for this one.

But we will need to at least match them down the middle.
It will be explosive.
But alot of pressure lies with Wigan. We need to turn the screw, in a legal manner.
TMFMISL will wind them up. He is a master of it, and we need him to play the game he does best. With Brain Dead Coley, JT and O'Curly Hair, there is plenty to get at.
If anyone would be going down to 12 it will Wigan, most likely.

| Quote ="Juan Cornetto"My thoughts are that with Sinfield set to play at 6 we do now need cover for Buderus and without McGuire we do not have the luxury of being able to move either Sinfield or Burrow to cover the hooker position as they are needed in space for kicking duties. Hence I would play Diskin.
Also as I said to get Smith on the field means moving Senior into the pack, therefore drop Kirke - hence my point that Smith will offer us better scoring chances than Kirke will?
I would play Ambler ahead of Bailey for the go forward as both are similar in defence and also we cannot afford Bailey to make errors or lose his cool in what will be a highly charged game.'"
Nope ! Not convinced. Buderus can play the full 80....and if the worse case scenario happens of a game finishing injury then the team will cope with JJB dropping into the hooker position.
Bench of Lautiti, Eastwood, Smith and Ambler much better. Senior and Delaney are the extra interchange second row if needed there. Ambl is unfortunate not to have been given more game time.....largely because of the warped insistence of giving Diskin one of the bench spots.

Smith on the bench is a waste as he has not enough speed to be an impact player so should be on for the full 80 when he will have more time to do his big game magic also we need extra kicker without McGuire.
I think we need 4 forwards on the bench. I would play Ambler ahead of Bailey and Diskin ahead of Kirke for this game. Only an opinion!

| Bailey has to play if fit imo his very presence on the pitch attracts attention from the opposition and tbf he's done so many of these sudden death matches we'd be foolish to drop him if he's fit.
The same goes for Disko and to a less extent Kirke we have to stick with players who are at ease in this situation and have done the business in the past.
Ambler will get plenty of games next year and i like the way the kid has handled the step up this year and has earned his new deal with good performances but his time isn't now unless we have injuries imo.

So you think Diskin is more of an "impact" player than Smith ? Gosh Diskin has vexed you too.
Don't be afraid of your opinion.... We're all entitled to one.... Even the blinkered, self-proclaimed-TVOC-nemesis, antipodean hooker hater ! !

In all seriousness you're probably right at this stage of the season. Kirke over Ambler only because of this....but I would still question Diskin over Smith in the 17.

It shouldn't be Diskin over Smith. I think both should play.
Having slept on it I would drop Delaney and play Smith at centre instead. Delaney has bad hands and does nothing for our attack. That would allow a bench of Eastwood, Ali, Diskin and Ambler
So that would be Webb, Hall, Smith, Senior, Donald, Sinfield, Burrow, Bailey, Buderus, Kylie, JJB, Ablett, Clarkson
This side would have mobility, good tacklers, some go-forward and inpact off the bench and make some room for Sinny and Rob to controls things.
