Odemwhingie & King Warrior? Seems likely, given the decision.

| Quote ="Inflatable_Armadillo"Hang on a minute... so your alternative is always to have the same people on the panel and no right of appeal??? There are guidelines (very good ones) but like the whole of the UK justices system it is down to a jury of piers to decide... in this case 3 people on the disciplinary panel, three on the appeals panel. They draw up rota's in advance which rotate all the members around both panels, so that one person can never dominate or they can form cliques with each other, meaning varied and balanced opinions and judgements!
He is still guilty, they (the appeals panel) just think he does not deserve a one match suspension for gods sake.
If this system is not fair what is your alternative?
Get a grip everyone, one panel had a slightly different view from the other and Leeds asked them to look at specific angle that the disciplinary may not have seen, but Leeds showed as it supported the argument for not suspending him... that means the system worked...
Get a grip!'"
Quite right. It is the same basis as our justice system. You have the right of appeal if you believe there has been a miscarriage of justice and you can provide further evidence/argument to support an appeal. It is logical and fair for any appeal judges to be different to the original as they can be more objective.
So in this case they would appear to have taken into consideration (with new video evidence) the fact that what was a normal but tough tackle became a potentially dangerous tackle because the 2nd tackler (Kylie I think) fell off the tackle which caused the collision with the ground to be at a more dangerous angle. They would appear to have ruled that this was not deliberate but accidental. They may also have taken into consideration Buderus's long and good disciplinary record. Buderus was still penalised with a fine and Leeds lost 2 points in the match. Good decision and proof the appeal system works.

I agree but why should it take an appeal to reach this conclusion. The correct decision should be made first time around. If a ban being overturned was a one off occurance then, OK, I wouldn't have an issue with it but when bans get overturned week in week out, it makes a joke of the original process and obviously highlights some major flaws in it.

Its really fantastic isn't it? I love how we get away with it all. I'm having a pint after work and will salute the RFL. They had me on tenterhooks but I knew they've rescind it.
You know what though, I cant wait to get home and put on my RFL sponsored Leeds Rhinos pyjamas

The alternative is very simple get a group of non club affliated members - how can you have 2 Wigan bods sitting on a panel together when it is known that Wigan will be playing an important game that weekend. It is no wonder the kick by Tomkins nor the spear on Eastwood, nor Tucson's attack on Clarkson were sent if two of the three people making the decision have Wigan affliations - it is a joke

It certainly is.
The panel only adjudicate on those charged and sent to the disciplinary on a Tuesday evening. They have absolutely no input on who goes before them. If you're going to have a whinge about conspiracy theories at least have it based on something close to reality.

| maybe we need to adopt part of the australian points system for bans, it seems silly that tomkins could kick someone after a tackle 2 weeks running and not get more than a fine as it gives the impression its acceptable to do it every game
imho punching someone who doesnt throw a punch back should be an automatic ban without the right of appeal
even on commantry about buderuses tackle it said that it was made to look worse by kylie falling off so why cant these ex players/officials see the same asthe sky team?
its both annoying and fustrating to all fans to see such wide ranging differences of opinion and therefore the type of punishment dished out
the manu tackle on cockayne at the weekend which ended up being a no charge looked very similar to mathers challenge on king a couple of seasons back that got him a red and a couple of games ban

Who mentioned ground sharing? The question was more to do with the police and whether they would be able to provide the required police presence for both games.

So it doesn't say anywhere that the match review panel does not have the same people as the disciplinary panel? or have I missed something there?
