A genuine question for you Leeds fans - if Hardaker is found guilty of saying "fu**ing puff," whether that be by his own admission, a lip reader or evidence submitted by Silverwood and/or Saints players, then would anyone have any complaints with a ban?

People seem to be focussing more on the process that the RFL have taken as opposed to what Hardaker is being accused of doing.

The RFL haven't covered themselves in glory with the way they have acted here but it's a means to an end in a way. If Hardaker is guilty of saying "fu**ing puff" then he deserves to be banned, simple as that.

Exactly but these type of people can not see the irony in the abuse they are giving out, our game will never be big and does not deserve to be with the hate filled fans the game has. This whole thing is completely turning me and probably many others away from the game.

If hardaker gets banned I will never attend an RL game ever again, this whole thing stinks. The game deserves to die after the RFL handling of this and the vile attitude of so called fans.

Because of how it's all come about. I had no issue with the ban before.

That's the problem now though as a guilty verdict is seriously flawed.

The tv clip/lip reading was never going to be concrete enough for them to ban him. And the RFL won't want to be accused of condoning homophobic abuse so it's in their best interests to find him guilty.

So to add weight to their case an admission several days later that their employee Silverwood heard something after all.

The ear-witness is firstly, employed by the 'prosecuting party' and he's also performed a bit of a U-turn which compromises his evidence massively IMO.

I answered this already. If he is found guilty by some fair and reasonable process then I would not have a problem with a ban.

I do have a problem with his guilt being presumed, albeit by a baying twitter mob of the clueless, and I have a big problem with the RFL naming him without any charge. That is wrong. To follow that up with a prissy statement about not commenting on the investigation is just ridiculous. Horse. Bolted. Stable door.

In all of this I do feel a bit sorry for Hardaker I must admit. He's a fantastic player, the best full back in England and pushing Tomkins very close too.

I don't believe for one minute he is a homophobe, he has simply had one or two "brain-farts" that may end up landing him in hot water. It's unfortunate and the whole situation is looking quite messy at the moment.

But the problem is now, will he be banned because he genuinely did say it, or because Hardaker being guilty is the best result for the RFL.

For me, a guilty verdict is already comprised so I'd have mixed feelings towards it. Nothing to do with condoning it, more because I now think the investigation is only interested in getting one certain result so I still wouldn't be certain he actually said it.
